Hi, dishwasher (BCI 450) was running on a 'Rapid & Dry' cycle but stopped. On checking, there are two steady lights on 'Normal' and 'Eco' to indicate a fault but this isn't in the manual for the BCI 450. The water hasn't drained out. I've checked and the pump looks ok and not blocked..?
I had this on my machine. This indicate the drain pump is broken. Probably due to a leak from the heating element pipe joint above it. You can easily replace the drain pump yourself. Costs around £30. I got mine from Curry's partmaster in the UK.

whatever wash cycle I choose on my Hotpoint BCI 450 dishwasher, it always completes the cycle in a short time, the water has not heated up and indicator light at the far right of the panel (soak) is flashing. Is the heating element broken and is it expensive to fix?

after a power cut my BCI45 dishwasher has stopped working. it was mid way through a wash at the time and now no matter which program i select after 3 minutes it will always end up with the 'R' LED flashing. i,ve taken down the drip tray to see if there are any leaks and its as dry as a bone and the float/switch is free. thank you
