The convergence circuit has gone bad. Probably one of the two STK IC chips has failed.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Some Projection TV's has a small round fuse in the back inside by the power cord. This fuse may be blown out. Before removing the back cover be safe and unplug the TV. Also if the inside is dusty take a duster and blow some of the dust out.

thanks
good luck

Check all input connections was properly connected.

if this was all check and corrected and the problem was still there, you will need the to check for any fault on the board the noise may be coming from the faulty capacitor inside.

That means that the TV is in prtotect mode.
Start unplugging power cord for ten minutes or so.

If you leave it off for one hour and get picture, try leaving unplugged overnight, sounds like draining power from the set completely can fix the problem.

If you still get the problem, that is probably a component overheating, and sending the TV in protect mode.

The Tv should be taken apart , and inspected by a technician.

If theer is dust inside, that can cause similar problems, the inside should be cleaned with a battery power mini hoover, a regular hoover can damage circuits.

If you do not notice any thing wrong, then that means that this is caused by a defective component, probably a blown capacitor or a defective circuit.

Common problems are power supply faults, and problems with horizontal deflection circuits.
The TV must be tested thoroughly by a technician to find the fault.

I have a 50 inch DLP samsung and it wont power on after making a lot of noise (I replaced the lamp) worked fine for a few days now the red light and the right side green light is blinking. any sugge

The answers above are correct. It's either the lamp or the color wheel. Testing the lamp is pretty straight forward. Use an Ohm meter to see if the it's filament has continuity. It's unlikely that a good color wheel would fail immediately after changing the lamp. Look to see if some wiring is out of place and rubbing the wheel causing the noise you described. A jammed but otherwise good color wheel would cause the TV to shut down and display an error code.

The TV was working en shut him self off. Wont start now .

This may be caused by convergence IC's being defective and some resistors around them not being the proper values.

I have repaired another Hitachi model Rear Projection TV that would start up and click click click and flashing red light, then replaced the convergence IC's STK392 series and a few burned up resistors and good as new :)

You will have to be handy with a soldering iron to complete this task, and there is a kit you can buy also http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/60sbx78b/ it comes with everything you need and even teach you how to solder if your not already good at it.

Hope that helps

Benq w1000 project not turning on

Look at the manual page 34, for the indicator messages. I suspect it's the same problem I have (which I haven't had formally diagnosed yet!), which I believe is a defective fan. My projector had been making a really loud noise on startup, which varied in length and volume. Recently the projector has taken to turning itself off after being on for about a minute, and the power light flashes green, with the temp and lamp lights flashing red.

Panasonic pt ae900 wont fire up

First , start over and unplug it. Wait a few minutes. Turn on AV system that is connected to it but not video or dvd player. With remote, point at is corectly and push power 1 sec or as soon as you see green light come on. Be quick.
If this fails you can wait 4 hours and repeat. OR try only projector with out any feed.

Let me know if this worked.

PLV-Z1 no longer powering up - Ready light is green and the Lamp light is red

I have a Sanyo XU35. Mine was starting up and showed a picture for about 15 - 30 seconds then shutting down. My lamp warning light was not coming on. When I put it in for repairs it turned out to be the lamp that needed replacing. The technician said it is not uncomman for the lamp to be gone and the lamp warning light not to come on. I got my lamp on e-bay from ping_ngo for a great price.
