Hp 2605dn printer ghosting in colour - Printers & Copiers

I get the same ghosting with the black toner. It appears about 4-8 inches shifted down on the page. I have to run the cleaning 3-4 times to get it clean. But, it would ghost again after 4-6 prints. What a waste of time and black toner. Anyone have some advice?

I had this same problem with a repair I was doing on a HP 2600 & eventually found that it was the high voltage power supply. This was after trying other cartridges, another transfer belt & fuser assembly. It is situated at the top the printer behnd the fuser assembly.

I have just replaced all four cartridges on my 2605dn. Up until then it was printing well. Now the colours do not align. I have re calibrated and reset to factory settings but to no avail. Help please

Often you will need to run 2-3 complete calibration cycles in a row to get the colors to align properly. And make sure that if you have the option for full calibration you run that, not a quick calibration although my memory tells me that there is only one option on this printer.

Hplaserjet 2605dn colour leaking

If the printer has a color leaking, remove and replace the cartridge ASAP.
Otherwise you are going to have a mess on your hands that you may not be able to clean up.
If this is an HP cartridge, call HP and let them know. They should send you a replacement.
Vacuum up the loose toner as much as you can.

The right side of the page does not print - HP 2605DN

Most likely the cartridges are out of toner. Or something is obscuring the path of the laser writer. If changing the cartridges does not solve the problem the machine will need servicing. Service manuals are available but not as comprehensive as necessary to fix this problem. Below is a very good DIY guide, but be very careful if you choose to do this yourself and follow his directions precisely.

HP 2605dn printing pale on magenta

This is likley to be the common problem (with this model of printer) of the laser unit having dirty lenes and/or mirrors.

Typically the magenta is the first colour to deteriorate.

To rectify this problem there's a fair bit of dismantling to be done in order to get the laser unit out.

Then you can open the laser unit up and clean the lenses and mirrors CAREFULLY. You don't want to scratch the surface silvered mirrors, or disturb the alignment of any of the optical components.

You'll see the same problem and solution for HP1600, HP2600, and Canon LBP5000, as they all use the same laser unit.

When I print colour prints on my HP 2605DN the red ink is always missing although there is plenty of toner left. This problem started about a year ago and it got gradually worse. Now there is no red ink...

This is known as laser scanner contamination and it simply needs to be serviced, they will clean some mirrors on the laser which are impeding the light from making contact with the magenta toner, therefore not using it.

Printer says printing document but will not print. anything

I had this same problem, and after 45 minutes with HP support, eventually managed to get it to print by turning the printer of and then holding down both arrow keys (left and right) at the same time while turning the printer back on. I held down the arrow keys until it said "Language: English" and then clicked through the prompts. It then restarted, and all was well again.
Other places mention doing this with the OK and Cancel keys, but that didn't do it for me - the arrow keys did.
