Ls3008 with French windows 7

Hi, I just received some LS3008 which I have to set up in a factory. The problem is: they are using Windows 7 (English US version) with a french keyboard. I tried to use the given barcodes to set up the devices with no success...I assume they have been done for an other windows version....If you know what is the problem, could you please let me know what's going on ? Thank you for your help. Regards. Bertrand

SOURCE: setup issue

you need to use a code book to program the gun how to behave (and by what kind of interface it is using) I found this note please look http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=ADC-00084&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=26700221&stateId=1%200%2026686911 you should have a book of barcodes to customise the configuration of gun to behave how you want it to. here is the electronic version http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=5093002apdf&sliceId=&dialogID=26700221&stateId=1%200%2026686932

SOURCE: ENTER after reading a barcode

look on page 200 (5-150) and scan the barcode there, then scan a four digit barcode you print based on the code in the appendix. I see 7013 on page 243 as the Enter key. also look at the code on 203 for the <data><suffix> format.

I would do these steps....
1. scan the code on page 200
2. scan the barcode you create of 7013
4. scan the code on page 201
5. scan the code on page 203
6. scan the code on page 206

Does that help?

SOURCE: LS4278 scanner can't read digits

Hi, try scanning French Windows barcode from the USB section of the LS4278 Product Reference Guide. The barcode is on Adobe page 147 of 414. You may also have to scan the Enable Keypad Emulation barcode from Adobe page 150 of 414, but I would do this only after testing with the French Windows setting first. I suggest saving a copy of the document before printing the barcodes just to make it easier to print. Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

I have a laptop with Swiss French keyboard. Today I have installed windows 7 in English. I need to find the " undescore " because my email address separates my firstname and my lastname with underscore...

Alt 8 is the underscore on the Swiss French keyboard, but I would think if you loaded Windows 7 English it would use the English layout which is "shift" and the key to the right of "0". Worst case, you can use the On-Screen Keyboard which is under Control Panel> Ease of Access Center> "Start On-Screen Keyboard". Once you have it open, right click on it on the "Task bar" and pin it to the task bar for easy future access.

How can i change the language on my compaq laptop from french to english without knowing a word of french

On Microsoft Windows (Windows Vista & 7) this can be accomplished. On all versions of Windows, this panel can be reached by opening the Run line (or Start Menu search box on Vista and 7) Pressing WIN KEY+R and typing intl.cpl followed by Pressing Enter Key.
creativetech_0.png
This would open the Language Options.

creativetech_0.jpeg

From the above box you have to choose English US, the click Advance settings button at the bottom right as shown above.
creativetech_2.png

Press E and select English US and press OK button. Restart the laptop.
As you would be facing French interface, it would be a little difficult but not impossible. So, Give it a try. Please note that options are the same and by paying a little attention, YOU CAN DO IT!

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Hi.

To install a different language - Multilingual User Interface (MUI) - you need to have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate
Type Anytime Upgrade in the Search programs and files box in the Start menu and click on the Windows Anytime Upgrade icon. From there, you can buy an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Then your can enter your Anytime Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate so you can install a different language.

If you are in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US you can use Anytime Upgrade. If not you will need to buy Windows 7 Ultimate, or buy Windows 7 in the language you need.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/windows-anytime-upgrade

Install Language Pack in Windows 7 Ultimate

1. Start -> All Programs --> Windows Update --> Optional Updates.
2. Open optional Updates and go to the section Windows 7 Language Packs.
3. Tick the Language Pack you want and hit OK
4. Proceed with Install Updates
5. Depiction of Windows 7 downloading a Language Pack
6. Automatic install initiated after download

How to change the Windows 7 Display Language:

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Clock, Language, and Region / Change the display language
2. Switch the display language in the Choose a display language dropdown menu.
3. Click OK
4. Log off for the changes to take effect (This will affect only the user profile under which you are currently logged on).

The only other way to get the English language is to use the recovery partition or recovery disk to start over from scratch.

If there is anything else please post back..

Good luck.

Change language fr french to english!

Hi There,
The method used depends on the version of Windows you are running.

You can right click on the task bar (where the running programs are shown along with the start button) and choose Toolbars... ' Language Bar. The language bar will now be shown, and you can click this, choose settings ' Add... and choose English.

If the language bar option is not available, and you are running Windows XP, open control panel and choose "Options régionales et linguistiques". From here, choose the second tab and down at the bottom there is an option to change to English. It will ask you to logout (it may be in French) so click OK and when you log back in you should be set to English.
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, open control panel and choose "Options régionales et linguistiques". From here, choose the third tab and there is a button to install/uninstall languages.
Please post back if you have more questions.

How do I change from French keyboard?

Start / Settings / Control Panel / Regional and language options, check you have the language you want in there, then remove the additional (French) language.

This assumes you're running Windows XP. Vista or Windows 7 will be similar.

My keyboard is typing an è instead of an apostrophy

Microsoft Windows has support for "foreign" keyboards, e.g., French, Swedish.

You've managed to hit left-ALT-SHIFT to switch the "input language" from English to French.

Use "Regional Settings" within "Control Panel" to set it back to English.

Stuck in french setting - need english

If you are using Windows XP (could beVista... but not certain)

Go to Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options:

Under your Regional Options Tab, be sure that it is set to English (United States) if that is where you reside.

Then go to the Language Tab, and under Text Service and Input Language, click on Details... be sure to select English under the Default Input Language. Click Apply to all windows and that should do it.
