SOURCE: Icemaker issue: cubes melting at the bottom causing water leak out the front

J, sounds like your dispensor flapper is not closing properly and you are drawing warm air up into the ice bucket. This model had an issue where the flapper pin holder was part of the housing and would break off. They have a kit now that fixes that problem. The only other thing it could be would be low freezer temps or it's staying in defrost too long. With out being there, I would start with the dispensor flapper. Check it out and post back.. This sounds like the float mechanism has gone bad. Remove it and have a look. It may be the float or the switch on it that is bad. There is also a solenoid valve. Parts kits are available. Shut off the water first!

What causes my ice maker to drip water?

HI,

This could be either the ice maker is old and the finish inside has depleted, the water valve is going bad or you had a jammed ice cube and now it overfilled. Many different reason this could happen. Does the ice cubes stick together with a bridge? Is the drip coming from the ice maker head unit? How is the ice in the pan its stored in, stuck together? In the pan, has the ice glaciered together? Need more information please. Thanks

My whirlpool ed20db ice maker isn't making ice. Inlet tube is frozen solid

Thanks for the model number. The water control valve=> W10245167 Water Inlet Valve will need replaced when this happens. Problem allows water to leak slowly into the ice maker and fill tube can become solid very quickly, or very messy ice formations coming down from ice maker, Thanks John Tripp Appliance 911

Icemaking is ok but I find water at the bottom of the frige .What seems to be the Problem tHIS A ULINE BAR REFIRERATOE WITH iCE MAKER

Your feed line may have a leak in the line itself or in one of the connectors. This it the line that sends water to the automatic ice-maker. Check the line coming from the wall to the ice-maker connector and slide your hand down the line. You will find water somewhere along this line and you have found your leak. This should be very easy to fix.

Water and ice is not working , this is a new unit and no when i connected water line, water will not flow to ice maker and or water despensor, it sounds like its working and or trying but water will not...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
On a new unit if you did not purge the water supply line it will take quite a while before you see water in door. You have to fill the tank in the door and then you will eventually see water out the dispenser. Just hold the water in door arm depressed with a glass until you notice water coming out. It should not take more than 3 minutes of continuous actuation to see water though the door.

It can be 8 to 10 hours before you ever see any ice production and the first batch of cubes may be small. After the first batch they should be regular sized. The freezer has to reach between 14 - 16 deg F before the themostat in the ice-maker actuates the harvest cycle.

Let me know if this does not work. Please do not start taking things apart as your unit is under warranty you may VOID your warranty.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Ice Maker does not make ice.

Your water feed to the unit is controled by a needle valve and could be filling up with calcium, to fix this you can take the unit apart and soak valve in a solution that will break down the calcium. Often it is easer to replace the unit or the valve, most things you use to decalcify the valve can also damage it at the same time.

Where is the pump for the ice maker?

The solinoid valve for the water dispenser and ice maker are the same one, it is generally located at the bottom behind the unit.

Kenmore refrigerator leaking

It could be the connection at the water control valve. If you can observe it, see if the water is coming from the connection or running down from above. There could be an ice jam where the water goes into the ice maker, and the water is falling out the back of the machine.

I have a Magic Chef Ice Maker Model No. MCIM30TS. My problem is that when I plug it in, nothing happens and the power light is blinking. Is the unit shot? Andrew from New Jersey

Hi, It's supposed to do that. Fill the base with water, then select an ice cube size, then click "start". It should start making ice within 20-30 minutes. The power goes off here all the time and that's how we re-start the machine. The important part is to first select the ice cube size, then click on "start'. I have no idea why it has to be done in that sequence. I have the same model, only I got it two years ago.
