I have an old Russell Hobbs Coffee Perculator model 3010 desgn no.976770 I need a new electrical lead

    Coffee pot section was the first place I tried but it offered no information on spare parts.

It's a standard IEC C15 plug, known as a "Jug Plug." It's the same as the standard C13 plug, but has a ridge to prevent a C13 being inserted.

C13 connectors are rated at a lower temperature than C15, so C15 are used for kettles & similar. A C15 can be used in any situation.

Avalable at any electrical parts store or electrical retailer.

before thinking about replacing the video card

Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty


if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail


make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty


even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems

computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error


make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free


restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

if you need to replace the video card it will be attached to the rear of the vga lead inside your computer usually in a pga slot


Remove your computer's cables.

Turn your computer around so the back faces you.

Remove the two screws on the computer holding the right side of your computer to the case.

On many models of gateway computers, you only need to remove the screws with your hand. Remove the right side of the case to expose the interior.


Unscrew the metal plate of your old graphics card holding it to your computer's case. Remove the card by sliding it out of the motherboard.

Slide your new graphics card into the slot from where you removed the old one. Screw the metal plate to your computer's case.
Reassemble your computer and connect its cables

Hi, Power supply died in my 10 year old computer. I put in a new one. The motherboard M6 STL light comes on. The cpu fan runs. The CD door opens and closes. That's it. Please help. Bruce


Possibly the power supply died whilst and caused damage to the system board or video board.
Have you still got the system board manual with the "Beep codes"? that will tell you which area to look. It is likely the video board has crashed.

Emachine w3107 has been restored to factory default worked but now it the monitor is black

just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error


you might have a dirty graphics card if you remove your graphics card restart your computer then

reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

I turn on power to tower and nothing happens sometimes it sounds like ti is going to work the nothing

I can't switch on my computer. There is no beep sound, all fans are turning on. mother board light on. hard disk as well. but no signal is sent to the screen. this happen because i change the processor...
