Question about Computers & Internet
I'm confused among Intel Pentium Dual Core and AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors. Can some one give me side-by-side Athlon 64 X2 processors equivalent to Intel E2160, E2180 processors? Please help me with the best bargain available today...
Amd is better for online gaming and grafix, from my personal view they also can take more power, than a standard dual core intel proccessor so id advise you to go for Amd if its for online gaming

From my suggestion go for intel dual core. it supports all hardwares and softwares. but AMD not. i agree that AMD is better for gaming and graphics. but i doesn't completely supports hardwares. intel is best now a days. there are many benchmark results available that intel is better than AMD.

SOURCE: E2180 Vs Athlon 64 X2 5000+
depends on what you plan to do with the cpu amd are good but a 3200 may only run @ 1.8 to 3.2 ghz depending while a intel 3200 will run 3.2 ghz.
I believe intel are more stable & run cooler than AMD but AMD benchmarks on Games better but run hotter (so get a good cooling fan & heatsink both pentium / celeron d & intel dou / dual core / core 2 dou and amd x2 have 2 cores (but watch your front side bus and cache the higher the better but the more $ also) then You need a good stable mobo that supports the chip you get (I preffer asus & msi for Gamers and biostar / msi for home users)

I'd advise don't start thinking below E2180. As per the performance go, E2180 and AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ are almost same but E2180 runs cooler. If you are going to use dedicated graphics card, go for E2180 and if you want a CPU for Integrated Graphics go for AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ because most of the 780G/790X chip-based AMD-compatible boards offer superior IGP.
