This problem probably is due to poor telephone line reception or interferrence. Although that problem may be caused by the use of remote telephones in the same building, it may also be caused by loose or damaged telephone connectors. If you have "call waiting" service, this too may cause the interferrence. It is unlikely that the firmware settings need to be adjusted, as you say there is no problem while sending a fax. If, during transmission, that interferrence occurred, then it would automatically resend and you wouldn't necessarily know it.

Everytime I am sending a fax i get the common error 20 02

Comm Error will show on the display if there is an issue on phoneline that were using.
First please check if the machine has a dial tone or try to call the fax # where you need to send the fax, just check if it's ringing. Second before loading the paper make sure that the display shows date & time. Then load the document in the tray the display should show enter fax # & start. Start dialing the # then hit start.

Hope this helps.

My machine (1020) will not except incoming fax's Why? Do I have to set up machine differently?

Some machines have a three answering modes.
1-manual-you have to pick up the fax headset and then press send when someone calls you with a fax.
2- auto-The machines answers the phone line when it rings and receives the fax automatically.
3-answer- the machines acts like a voice answering machine only.

Check your display or user settings to see that it in in AUTO RX or receive mode. .
Hope that helps.

Not able to receive a fax, but able to send a fax

Welcome FixYa! I'm the expert that has chosen your issue to fix. Now let's get started!

I believe the issue is that your machine is set to Manual Mode. The manual mode is used where you have only one phone line and you only receive occasional faxes. In this mode, the machine won't automatically take faxes, but you can send faxes fine.

If this is the case, and you receive a lot of faxes and you only want to receive faxes only, you will need to change your mode to Fax Only, as follows:

  1. Press Function, then
  2. Press Data Registration, then
  3. Press Set, then
  4. use up/down arrows to find RX Settings on the display, then
  5. Press Set (ECM RX will Display), then
  6. use up/down arrows to find RX Mode, then
  7. Press Set (Fax/Tel AutoSw will display, then
  8. Use up/down arrows to find (Fax Only Mode), then
  9. Press Set (Incoming Ring should be displayed), then
  10. Press stop/reset to return to standby mode.
  11. Confirm that display reads (Fax Only).
The machine will now treat all incoming calls as faxes and ignore all voice calls.

Thats about it! Thanks again for using FixYa.com

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation. If it hasn’t, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best I can. I am at your service.

Hi how do I turn of tx and rx reports on faxcentre F110/

The machine can print a transmission (confirmation) report after each transmitted fax. This report indicates whether or not the fax has reached the intended recipient. Four different settings are available for the transmission report:
  • With: a report is printed when the fax transmission was successfully sent or when it is completely abandoned. There is only one report for each fax sent.
  • Without: no transmission report is automatically printed, however, the machine will save all fax transmissions that took place in memory. The faxes sent can be viewed by printing out a transmission log (report).
  • Always: a report is printed after each successful or interrupted transmission.
  • On Error: a report is printed only if the transmission failed or is abandoned.

NOTE: With each transmission report from memory, a reduced version of the first page is automatically reproduced.

To modify the report type setting:
  1. Press the [OK] button directly below the Display Screen. '1 Installation' and '2 Fax' will be displayed.
  2. Press [2], [5] on the numeric keypad. ‘25 >Send Report’ will be displayed.
  3. Press [OK]. The transmission report screen will be displayed.
  4. Press the up or down arrow button directly below the Display Screen to select a transmission report setting, then press [OK]. ‘25 Send Report’ will be displayed.

NOTE: As the up and down arrow buttons are pressed, the menu will scroll through the available choices and move the greater than symbol (>). Stop when the greater symbol is in front of the appropriate selection.

  5. Press the [Stop] button on the Control Panel. The 'Date / Time' screen will be displayed

Fax display screen always reads, "Auto receive". When attempting to fax, the busy light flashes. Busy light stops flashing for 30 seconds, then starts flashing again.
Above is the default settings for the fax.

NGB0 indicates signal error or line condition error.
U need to check the phone line. U can hook any single line phone to the phone line, check for tones without background noise.
