Once the fridge is shut OFF for few hours to defrost and then switched ON , if the fridge works with cooling , then the fault is with the AUTO DEFROST TIMER or the circuit -maybe the heater, break in the lines to the timer, heater, the fan.
The build up frost will block the flow of cool air to the fridge from the freezer evaporator.
So remove and check.
it will take at least 48 hours for a large fridge freezer to settle down after a complete defrost,so leave it alone with the door shut, set at you favourite temp....
The fridge should be just above freezing, maybe 2 or 3 degrees celsius.
The freezer should be around -15 degrees celsius. The outside temp doesn't matter as far as the settings go.
Very good diagnosis and conclusion. That price for the motor is about right. I think you will not have any truble with the ciculation after you install the motor.
You can find most user manauls at, www.managemyhome.com, on the right side of the page. You will need the model number off the product information label affixed to the unit.
You have found where the problem is and now you must find what the problem is. The freezer is not defrosting tells you the problem is there. Defrost of the freezer coil is started by a timer, the time energizes the heaters, when termination temperature is reached the defrost thermostat opens, the timer continues until the time expires (18-22 minutes). First locate the timer, rotate the clutch head screw SLOWLY clockwise until on e click is heard. The heaters should come on a defrost take place. If timer restarts the system after the time period check the heaters for continuity. If no reading on an Ohm meter replace the heaters. If you find the heater O.K. by a continuity reading, check the defrost thermostat.
This button is the winter/summer setting.
If you switch it on so as the red mark shows this is set for the summer setting.
What it does is allows the interior light to come on very dimly when you shut the door.
The fridge then thinks it is too warm and starts to cool down more, designed for when the ambient temperature is high.
Hope this helps
