2 suggestions: 1 check the clock spring under the steering wheel airbag 2 continue to fiddle with the light switch & if it works, you may need to replace that switch
We have this microwave in our caravan and its taken me about 20 holidays to figure this clock out. So I'm sorry i'm a bit late on this but its taken me until now to figure this out.
Step 1. Press the clock button.
Step 2. Press the cancel button. (the display will return to zero)
Step 3. Enter time using the 1 to 0 numbers.
Step 4. Press the clock button.
I don't see why not, just keep a eye on it, and run it only when you are using it. shut it off when not in use !!! stay clear of the pop off valve when checking it !!
It sounds like the hi-limit safety thermostat may be tripped, the scenario you described is exactly how this would manifest "clock, timer.& oven don't work. No electric on top panel All burners are fine" ...that is the component that typically trips/activates during a self clean on many ranges. You shouldn't need to open the front control panel, but access is through the back. (this can also occur during power surges)
You'll need to slide the range/oven outfrom the cabinet. If you slide the unit away from the wall and unplug it you can check the hi-limit. It will either be a non-reset type hi-limit or push to reset. If non-reset it needs to be replaced, if push to reset type, simply pushing in the red button will get you back up and cooking in no time.
**Unplug the range from the wall first of course...safety first**
Once you remove the panel you will need to look for a switch/thermostat which looks like either of these... NON-RESET
PUSH TO RESET The replacement if necessary are available at "searspartsdirect.com" or "repairclinic.com" to name a couple. Let me know how you make out. Good luck. I'll watch for your reply and if you need anything further I'll be glad to help in any manner I can.
Dear john, replacing CMOS Battery usually RESET password ( plug out your laptop battery, then plug out the CMOS battery. keep it out for 5 minutes.) After 5 minutes by, put back on the CMOS battery. put it back all together. laptop battery the last one. On the first boot you need to set the time and date. or by pass it by pressing ESC. >> If your Operating System goes >>> right click on clock task bar >>Adjust Date/Time >> set as you wish >> apply >> ok >>>RESTART your unit.
