Lexmark Z11 Printer will not work

My Lexmark Z11 printer stopped feeding the paper through. I have replaced the ink cartridge and put in new paper. When I try to print it makes a grinding noise. The ink cartridge moves from side to side and acts like it is printing, but the paper will not feed through. Any suggestions? Thanks,

Re: Lexmark Z11 Printer will not work

I am having the same problem and after looking it over, something is not feeding it thru the beginning of the paper starting in. if i pust 1 sheet down far enough to grab the paper it will print one page at a time. I have been unable to determine what is not feeding at the beginning yet.

Unit was working fine.It just stopped feeding the paper into the printer.Just makes a high pitched sound like it has no paper in the load shute.Thought it was the Ink.Got new ink,no luck.I don't abuse...

Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please follow steps below to fix the problem:

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris in the cartridge carrier's path or the paper path.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

I have a Lexmark x4690 and the printer keeps telling me I have an alignment problem. I say ok to doing the alignment but when the paper feeds through there is no ink on the page. Also, if I try to print...

The error could be due to the cartridges in the printer. Please follow steps below to identify and fix the problem:

1. Make sure the printer is on.

2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.

3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier. Check the encoder strip (transparent strip behind the cartridge carrier) and make sure it is not unseated from its position.

4. Close the printer cover.

5. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power outlet to reset it.

6. When the printer turns on, check for any errors. If alignment error is displayed on the screen, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance. If no error appears, reinsert one cartridge first.

7. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.

8. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.

9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge. You can also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.

If problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

I have Lexmark x85printer. Bought new Ink Cartages. Printer Will not Feed Paper All I get is paper jam Clear paper

Either the ink cartridges are incorrectly inserted, and block the paper path jamming the paper, or the paper drive roller got slightly out of kilter when replacing the ink. Sometimes, powering down the printer, manually moving (gently) the printer head halfway from home position, closing the printer and powering it on will clear a roller problem (never tried on a Lexmark, though. It works on Epsons and HPs). If the head doesn't move, though, don't force it. Try instead taking out the ink cartridges and putting them in again, without forcing, and gently wiggling them until they click in place.

If you get the message without any paper in the printer, check the insides for any scrap of paper which could have lodged in the sensors.

Also, verify there is no paper elsewhere in the paper run (paper out tray, etc.). Sometimes the "paper jam" message is a sort of "catch-all" error.

Put in new cartridge and unit will not print. Goes through all of the motions but doesn't print. Printed many pages before "low on ink" message. Why does it not print now?

It may be caused by some issues. Check:

* Did you remove the plastic from the connections from the cartridge as the instructions indicates?

* Is the cartridge connector from the printer ok?

* Is the cartridge correctly installed?

* It's a new cartridge? I mean, NEW. Not refilled one or a cartridge that expired two years ago.

* Try running one or two "Clean printer head" procedure to see if ink flows.

Good luck !

Triple vertical printing with Z11

Here's what worked for me: (I'm using a black ink cartridge, but my 'printer properties' were set for a color cartridge, thus basically sending a '3-color signal' to my printer; making it print in triple vertical.)
Go to Settings > Control Panel > Printers. Right click on your printer, and click Properties. Click the Cartridge Maintenance tab, then click Install / Change Cartridge. Select the cartridge you are using in the drop-down list, and click Continue. Print an Alignment Page. If this dosen't work, close everything and try it again: I had to do it twice to get mine to work. Hope this helps!

Printer cartridge stalled

# Turn off the printer.
# Inspect the location or tray the printed paper ejects to. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
# Remove all paper trays and any paper that may be stuck between the tray and the printer. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
# Open the printer door that allows you access to the printer ink cartridges or toner and look for any stuck paper. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
# Turn the printer back on. If you continue to receive a printer jam error try repeating the above steps again. If issue still persist and you see no paper that is stuck in the printer it's likely your printer is experiencing another hardware issue

Lexmark z11 Vista Compatible?

Looks like I've cracked it [Touches wooden desk]. Need a USB to IEEE 1284 36-pin Parallel Printer Cable, like the one I received today (ordered yesterday from First, connect it to Z11. Turn on Z11 and boot up Vista PC/laptop. (I run Vista Business on my laptop.) Connect cable to computer. Message appears "Installing device driver software". Click it for status. 'Found New Hardware' box appears. Click 'Locate and install driver software'. A message appears "Error loading LXADSUI.DLL. Specified module could not be found". Click 'OK'. Message appears saying driver software installed successfully. ["Yeah, right ..."] (Have faith, folks!) Now, click Start, then Control Panel and double-click Printers. Right click on Z11 and click on Set As Default Printer. Right click on Z11 again and click on Properties. Check on Ports tab that Port USB is ticked for Z11. On Cartridge Maintenance tab, check right cartridge is showing. If not, click 'Install/Change Cartridge' and follow instructions. Then 'Clean Print Nozzles' and 'Align Cartridges'. Check settings on the other tabs in Properties look OK and try printing a test page! It looks good to me!

Lexmark z11

Your printer thinks you are using a color cartridge. If have the lexmark printer manager software, go to "install new cartirdge" and tell it that you are using a black cartridge. Otherwise, install a printer driver, reinstall the printer, and set it up again.
