Question about Tomtom ONE GPS Receiver
Hi, Unfortunatly , the cost of a screen means it is not cost effective to fit a new one. However , if you can obtain another tomtom ( but faulty ) the same as yours it might then be worthwhile doing as the cost of a used but broken tomtom is often less than a new screen. You can buy faulty TomToms off Ebay. Provided you make sure that the one you buy has a ' good screen ' you can remove it and fit the used screen into your own TomTom. It's fiddly and you need special screwdrivers to remove the torx screws holding it all together. A person who is experienced with repairing small items like mobile phones etc should be able to complete this task easily but someone with no experience might get themselves into more trouble and make things even worse. There can be many parts to remove and disassemble just to get to the screen. Removing the screen is also delicate as it is held in place with little plastic lugs and great care has to be taken not to break these lugs off or in fact break the screen whilst doing so . Hope this helps , if you are in UK , let me know and I might be able to help , I do have some spare screens here but it depends on model . good luck .
