Predictive Text? Help! How do you turn on predictive text on my Samsung SGH E590? It was on for a while, and now it is gone! HELP! Please!

It all depends on the model of Samsung that you have.earlier i had samsung SGH-E730, when I write text messages I can opt whether i want regular typing, predictive text, numbers, or punctuation. Once I am in the "Create message" screen, this is controlled by the topmost left hand button. Pressing it switches from normal typing (icon is a capital A, followed by Eng) to predictive text (icon is a stylized T9, again followed by Eng), to numbers (icon is 1) to punctuation (icon is #/).

There is no general setting that controls this.

Then turn off the predictive text. Open a new message and hold * button.

mesages and long press # as to change the pred. text please also look at your right hand corner of your cell you will see abc_ dont stop till you se abc with no line following text

problem solved, go into messages create a new text message then click on options run down the menu to input method and click on Ab, now do you send me $5-99.

when on predictive text if you want to change a word just click the "0" button (one with the Cross sign) this will cycle though the different words for you

it is the same key as to change case. If you press it repeatedly, it'll cycle through various options in the top right of the screen:
initial caps with predictive,
all caps predictive,
lower case predictive,
numbers,
initial caps without predictive,
all caps without predictive,
lower case without predictive.

When T9 is not displayed, predictive text is off.

Just to spice things up, Samsung's idiotic software designers made it so that depending on the situation you're inputting text, the order that things cycle through is different, so you can't just press it a certain number of times to turn it off, you have to pay attention to the icon in the top right.

when you go to wright your text on the bottom right corner of the screen is the prompt for the type of text.
press the right control button and this will change.
