Vertical lines & white screen outdoors

Hi, Indoor pics have vertical lines across my images, and they seem hazy and yellowed around the edges. Taking a pic up real close and you don't get the lines, but thats not always a good thing with the flash back and or bigger items where you have to have a bit of distance between you and the subject.
Also trying to take a pic outdoors (flash off) sun out, but took the pic in the shade, and I get a flashy white screen, with barely there image.
Thanks in advance! :)

Hello, the other two replies are good answers, but it could also be the shutter magnet causing interferance with the picture creating lots of tiny lines accross the picture and causing the picture to be grossly overexposed.

In Australia these cameras do not have a ccd recall issue and in our workshop we have not had to replace any CCD's on these particular cameras.

Lots of lenses though (as the shutter is not avalible seperate) with similar problems to as you have described.

Sorry for the bad news.

I've seen similar symptoms in broadcast cameras and it can sometimes be compensated for by lowering the "v-sub" voltages to the CCD. Not sure if that applies to your camera but it's an idea to check out.
Unfortunately it's not the kind of adjustment for a user. It's more likely found in a service manual for
technicians.

This sounds like CCD sensor ( se enclosed image )on its way out . Will get worse untill the sensor does not generate any image at all. Has to be replaced; we do not repair them. See if Samsung agent in your are will be prepared to fixed no charge as Sony , Canon and Nikon repair this particular fault even if the camera itself is out of warranty.vertical lines & white screen outdoors - e2cd85f.jpg

Indoor photos are generally poor quality - PLEASE HELP!

Raise the ISO, set the camera to take pics at the maximum megapixels and highest quality, check your white balance....what is it set for?...auto white balance or something else? Experiment with different settings under different lights to see what you like best.

About half the pics I take are lousy - blurred, hazy. Any ideas? Kodak Support SUCKS. And, they cannot repair their own cameras - or properly refurbish the ones they pass out as replacements.

what pics are you taking? Are they indoor or outdoor pics?

Usually the higher the ISO, the grainer the pictures become.

IS0 is the camera's sensitivity to light.

Do pictures turn out lousy outdoors in daytime?

Images fine inside but outside natural light images overexposed

CCD is going for Failure !

it starts like this first indoor ok and outdoor over exposed then
indoor pics also when u see them closely turns pink or green in shades then horizontal vert lines appear then completely blank

just check with casio if they have issued service advisory for the CCD failure problem as all others have issued they will do it free of charge
