Sony handycam dcr-hc40 will not power on

I recently repaired the handycam by replacing the LCD flex boards that were cut in half from the repeating of opening & closing & I put everything back together correctly & now it has no power at all even when plugged in the wall!! It had power & everything before but LCD would not work..Please Help!!

    you can repair your power ic from any camera repairing shop otherwise contact dealer or contact your manufacturing company

The touch screens in these can shift. Can you rotate the screen and get the screen to work? if so it's possible if your skilled to recenter the screen then resecure it. of course you might end up having to replace it. DCR-HC40 LCD works, but Touchscreen doesn't. I was able to calibrate once -- but din't hold settings. I cannot calibrate.

hello its ruttine problem ,just change the lcd FLAP and you can use the touchscreen.its not to wory about that

Had the same.after stopped showing anything and the rest was working perfectly. Changed the flex wire connecting camcorder and it's like new. got from the repair shop and did it by miself. Good luck

flexible wire connecting between LCD board and camera main board is cracked or broken and requires replacement.
Let me know to provide you part number of flexible wire if you want to replace it yourself.

if you power the camcorder from the call socket, if it works that mean the battery has bad.
