my bother's pc has been doing the same thing, under warranty he took it in for service and they replaced the battery and wireless card??? After it was serviced it started doing the same thing a couple months later, now it's out of warranty and they say the mother boards is bad. If been doing some research to see what others have done in this case or if it's a defect maybe Toshiba has to fix this problem for everyone who own this PC and have the same problem. I urge everyone who has the same problem to responed here this way we can see if it's a known problem with this PC.

I have similar symptoms. Working fine. 12 hours later power LED lights but no fan, no video. Boot CD in drive will spin for 15 seconds but still no video or fan.
Tried without battery, HD, WL Card, etc.. Same problem. Laptop is 1-1/2 years old.

Seems like no one has an answer on this. If I can get it in the charge cycle it will stay powered for some time.

Im in the same boat, only with the 1135-s155. I looked inside the system knowing a little about motherboards and such and everything looks fine. Nothing is broken, no burned chips or anything. Toshiba sucks is what I have come down to and I'm out a laptop! Good thing the HD was not affected so I didnt loose any of my data.

Try plugging in an external monitor first to see if the vIdeo card is bad or the motherboard. What normally happens is in the BIOS setup. Sometimes by clearing and reinstalling the BIOS the problem is somewhat resolved if the mother board isn't trashed.

You can't , it's part of the chipset and as such it's soldered to the motherboard.

Have you left a cd in drive? It could be trying to read a disk to boot from if thats how your boot order is set up. This is the first simplest thing to check.

Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 Charger problem

Get another laptop.

The A135 is a lemon.

Problem is either with the dc jack on the board or more than likely the motherboard is damaged.

I've repaired a number of A135's and 95% of the time motherboard had to be replaced.

Sorry for the bad news, but I hope this helps.

Yeah, Toshiba Laptops ****! My A135 S2246 is doing the same thing. You and I aren't alone either. Search for: "toshiba sucks" and you'll see how many there are, lots of them. 1 week after warranty expires it started doing exactly what yours is doing. I swapped out ram with known good ones, HDD also, I connected external monitor, keyboard, nothing changed. I re-seated the CPU, temp disconn cmos batt -no help.
Cleaned all the connectors & grounds, no help.
Fan runs on & off, I feel heat being pushed out.
Can hear Hdd spinning, indicator led briefly flashes when I first turn on.
Fn indicator led will illuminate, sometimes.
caps lock led -not at all.
numeric keypad led, no.
the only key that seems to do anything is Fn.
Toshiba wanted $35. just to discuss it over the phone. -WRONG!

Its now two years old and about as useful as a milk bucket under a bull!

A135-S4527 mainboard not initializing

Make sure the laptop is turned off. Take out the memory and then reseat it back into its slot. Then turn on the laptop and see if it turns on and you get video. If not then turn it back off. Reseat the memory into the other slot and turn the laptop on again to see if you get video. If you still don't get video then remove the battery and only have the ac adaptor hooked up. Then turn it on again and if you still don't get video then your motherboard is bad and you'll have to get it replaced.

Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 display problem

First try an external screen to see if your operating system is loading , if it does get a flashlight point it on the screen and check if you see a faint image , if you do it must be a bad FL inverter and if not a bad LCD, try calling toshiba tech 18004577777 to check your warranty if you still have warranty send it for repair.
