Dell v305 printer allignment problem

Hello Michelle,

You are using Dell Series 9 ink cartridges, correct?

If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the power brick for 60 seconds, this will reset any error messages the printer has. I would then plug everything back in.

Power on the printer.

Open the printer(with the power on) and take out the Dell Series 9 black cartridge and then reseat it. I would then take out the color Dell Series 9 ink cartridge and reseat it. Now close the printer and it will print an alignment page.

Any error messages?

black cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)
photo cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

It's possible to get a Dell Series 9 ink cartridge with a bad sensor. I would take these back to the place of purchase for a replacement.

How do I check the ink level from my computer

  • Check the back of your computer to make sure that the printer is appropriately connected to the computer and is plugged in. If the printer is not plugged into the computer, find the printer jack on the back of the computer and plug it in before you move on to the next step.

  • Click on the "Start" menu button which is located on bottom left hand corner of your screen. Click on the "Settings" bar and notice that a list of functions pop up to the left of the settings button. Click on the control panel icon.

  • Look for the printer/fax icon in the control panel window. Double click on the printer icon.

  • Find the icon for your printer in the opened window and right click on the icon. Now click on the "Preferences" option.

  • Look for the menu box pop up with tabs near the top of the box. Click on the "Services" tab.

  • Click on "Service this device." You will find the button on the Services menu that you just activated.

  • Click on the estimated ink level tab and a graphic will appear indicating how much ink is left in the cartridge.

How do I re-set after a paper jam hp psc 1200?

Verify that the print cartridge door is closed.
The print carriage may be jammed, follow these steps to correct the problem:
    1.
Open the print cartridge access door. If the print carriage can move, it should move to center. If the print carriage stays all the way left, unplug the power cord and then plug it back in. This will reset the unit and may allow the print carriage to move from the left.
    2.
Disconnect the power cord from the all-in-one.
    3.
    Remove both print cartridges.
    4.
Move the print carriage left and right slightly to verify that the print carriage will move freely. If the print carriage will not move freely, check for obstructions.
    5.
Close the print cartridge access door.
    6.
Plug the power cord back in.
    7.
After the all-in-one initializes, the print cartridge light will flash. Open the access door and install the print cartridges.
    8.
Close the print cartridge access door. If the problem returns, remove the print cartridges and wipe the electrical contacts before reinstalling them.
    *
Try to make a copy. If the all-in-one pulls in paper but cannot make a copy, there may be a problem with the scanner mechanism. Contact HP for assistance.

If that doesn't work, maybe try this too:

    Clearing paper jams
Paper jams can occur for a variety of reasons but are usually paper related. Follow the steps below to clear the paper jam:

    1.
Turn off the all-in-one and unplug the power cord. With the power off, the paper feed rollers will turn.
    2.
Open the rear access door of the all-in-one by pressing in on the left side of the access door and then pulling it toward you.
NOTE: All paper jams must be removed by pulling the paper out the back of the all-in-one using the rear access door. Pulling the paper out the front of the all-in-one rotates the paper feed rollers in the wrong direction and can lead to additional problems.

Inspect the pressure rollers on the rear access door and verify that they are clean and turn freely. Clean the rollers if needed with a soft towel lightly moistened with water. If the rollers do not turn freely, replace the rear access door.
    *
If under warranty, contact HP to obtain a replacement part.
    *
Click How to buy on this page to order replacement parts.
    3.
From the rear access door opening, gently pull the jammed paper free.
    4.
Remove the remaining paper from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper that is damaged or crumpled and then re-stack and reload the paper into the paper supply tray.
Do not continue to push the paper in after some resistance is felt. If the paper is pushed in too far, more than one page will feed into the all-in-one at a time.
    5.
Reattach the rear access door by inserting the two pins on the right of the door into the holes for them and then pressing in gently but firmly on the left side.

    6.
Reconnect the power cord to the unit and turn the unit on. Source(s): http://www.castleink.com

How do I check levels of ink on my HP Photosmart c6300 all in one. Thank You CJ

There are two ways to do this:
Method 1 Check the back of your computer to make sure that the printer is appropriately connected to the computer and is plugged in. If the printer is not plugged into the computer, find the printer jack on the back of the computer and plug it in before you move on to the next step.Click on the "Start" menu button which is located on bottom left hand corner of your screen. Click on the "Settings" bar and notice that a list of functions pop up to the left of the settings button. Click on the control panel icon.Look for the printer/fax icon in the control panel window. Double click on the printer icon.Find the icon for your printer in the opened window and right click on the icon. Now click on the "Preferences" option.Look for the menu box pop up with tabs near the top of the box. Click on the "Services" tab.Click on "Service this device." You will find the button on the Services menu that you just activated.Click on the estimated ink level tab and a graphic will appear indicating how much ink is left in the cartridge.OR Method 2 Click Start and select HP Solution Center . Select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .
The Printer Toolbox opens. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. A cartridge may be running out of ink even if the graphic shows ink remaining (see the note at the start of this section). Lines or streaks always appear in printouts when the cartridges begin to run out of ink. Replace print cartridges that are out of ink or low on ink. Figure 1: Estimated ink levelsc00677193.gif

The power button keeps flashing on hp deskjet F4180. I've done just about everything to get this to work. It is almost like the ink cartridge holder isn't working properly. When I open the door to put in...

Also another thing to try is to unplug the printer because sometimes printers hold jobs even if you clear them from the computer so unplugging it is sorta like doing a hard reboot on the computer.
When you plug it in the ink cartidge should move.

My C46 has been spoiled by someone who can get into my home. It will not allow the paper to go through It is grabbed on the right and goes to the left. I've tried finding something to change about it. ...

Typically there is a small bit of paper that is stuck somewhere in the paper path. It is now probably black with ink and will be hard to see. Usually running some card stock through the printer will clear it. But if necessary, manually push some thin plastic (maybe from some clothes packages) back and forth through the paper path, especially at the edges to try and dislodge the offending clog.

What you don't see is that when you close the cover the ink cartridge moves back and forth, grabbing the edge of the paper on the right and pushing it to the left. There may also be a piece of paper stuck on the ink cartridge head or carriage. Remove the ink cartridge, inspect the head and place where it moves to see if there isn't a bit of paper stuck there (again, will be saturated with ink). Use same process to remove. Try not to use a knife or other sharp object as it might damage the printer.

Yellow and Green light keep blinking and wont let my printer do anything. Any ideas Canon PIXMA iP4500 plug into a new IMAC. Thanks Kelly

IP4000 6A00 error and green and orange blinking for 12 times.
Open the top of the printer, move the ink-cartridges to the left.
Look in the opening you get.
You will see a white plate with two transparent guides on this.
do not touch the transparent guide plate.
On the most right white arm push a little downwards with a pencil or a plastic pin.
May be you have to push on the grove a little more to the back .
You will see that the plate will move a very little and this obstruction for moving the cartridges and rollers is gone.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
    Thanks, Joe

Have just unpacked new HP Photosmart C4200 All-in-One Cannot get machine to accept cartidges which werre supplied with the printer

NOTE: The product must be on before you can insert the print cartridges.
    1. Open the print cartridge door. Figure 7: Opening the print cartridge door c00880893.jpg
    2. Make sure the print carriage moves to the right. If it does not move to the right, turn the device off, then turn it back on again.
    3. Open the packaging and remove the tape from both cartridges. Figure 8: Removing the tape c00880894.jpg CAUTION: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or re-tape the cartridges.
    4. Hold the cartridges with the HP logo on top.
    5. Insert tri-color cartridge in the left cartridge slot and the black cartridge in the right cartridge slot . Figure 9: Inserting the print cartridges c00880895.jpgc00880896.jpg
    6. Push the cartridge firmly into the slot until it snaps into place.
    7. Close the print cartridge door.
Step eight: Align the print cartridges When a new print cartridge is installed, the product aligns the cartridge. Align the print cartridges at any other time by using the software installed with the product. Aligning the print cartridges ensures high-quality output. NOTE: If a print cartridge is removed and reinserted, the product will not prompt for an alignment. The product memory retains the alignment values for that print cartridge. Follow these steps to align newly installed print cartridges.
    1. When prompted, make sure that plain, white letter or A4 paper is loaded in the input tray, and then press the button next to OK . The alignment page prints.
    2. Lift the lid. Place the top of the alignment page face-down on the front, right corner of the scanner glass. Figure 10: Placing the alignment page c00880898.jpg
    3. Close the lid.
    4. Press the button next to OK . When the On button stops flashing, the alignment is complete and the page can be removed.
