Menu won't go away...HELP

The adjustment menu won't go away...the one with : picture, brightness, color, sharpness, hue color temp....there are icons across the top and the pink on on the left keeps blinking....I push the menu button and it will go off for a moment...then it's back on. When I leave it alone it will stay and stay..then go off for about 10 sec...then back on solid...until it takes another 10 sec break.

I have it with a phillips DVD and never use it except with a dvd....

The above posting is mine and I don't know how to fix this problem but it is actually the TV not the DVD and I corrected this when I wrote the note but it defaulted bact to the dvd player...it is the TV that is having the problem.

    Thanks!

When I try to scroll through the menu the display goes away...it will not stay on long enough to see what the settings are. If I click the display button it will come back...but as soon as I start to scroll through the icons on the top it will go away as soon as I let go of the button. Of course then is comes back right away.

The TV is a Memorex MT 2024 It is about 2 years old.

When I try to do what you say ..:

I scroll through the menu...and the one you refer to is the one that is stuck up....I can scroll through the icons on the top but as soon as I get to the one with the sleep feature it goes away. when I start scrolling it will deiplay that mene function very breifly and then it will go away. Only to come right back.
THe pink icon on the far left is constantly blinking.

Most likely you will have to change the Timer settings:
    To change
    the timer, follow these steps:

    1. Press the "Menu" button on the remote to bring up the "Image" menu.

    2. Use the Arrow right button on the remote to scroll to "OSD Setup"
Press the "OK" button on the remote.

    3. Use the Arrow down button on the remote to highlight "OSD Timer"
Press the "OK" button on the remote.

    4. Use the Arrow right button on the remote to change the time from x
Sec. to 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, Etc. Once the right time is selected, Press
    the "OK" button.

    5. Press the "EXIT" button to exit out of the menu.

Let me know if that works or not..

Sony KP-53HS30 Projection TV has pink and blue hue w/timer blink

Depending on your TV, you may have a Color Temperature (Color Temp) and/or Hue setting in the menu. Use these options to adjust the picture to the setting that best suits your viewing preference.
If your TV has a Color Temp setting, you will normally have the following options to select from:
  • Cool: Gives the picture a cooler, slightly bluish appearance.
  • Neutral: Gives the picture a neutral, more natural look and appearance.
  • Warm: Gives the picture a warmer, slightly reddish appearance.
If your TV has a Hue setting, follow the appropriate step below to make adjustments:
  1. Move the setting to the right to reduce the reddish appearance.
  2. Move the setting to the left to reduce the greenish appearance.

Wrong, abnormal or missing colors

・ If any colors (red, green or blue) are missing, check the video cable to make sure it is securely connected. Loose or broken pins in the cable connector could cause an improper connection.
・ Press and select Picture | Settings to adjust the Hue and Saturation settings. You can also select
Picture | Advanced to adjust the Color Temperature settings.
・Connect the TV to another computer and check if the problem is with the computer screen.

Other than that there is no mention of color adjustment

see if there is a "default" option, if not set everything back to the middle, if the colors are still off you sure its not the convergence?
most big screens allow you to change "color temperature" it's like a default adjustment for 3 different brightness levels.... ie...COOL, WARM picture will show obvious changes in brightness

FOGGY-HAZY PICTURE

The contrast setting should always be more than the brightness setting, it's purely common sense to have the black levels dark and the white levels light. I advise your brightness to be 40, and your contrast to be set to 60.

You shouldn't alter the hue, as most manufacturers would have spent significant time balancing this anyway, so set this to 50 and leave it alone.

The saturation shouldn't be altered too much, the best bet is to set this to 55 and let it be. Also, the colour temperature shouldn't be changed atall, so set this to the default setting and leave it alone.

As for the sharpness setting, this should definitely be set quite low. I advise setting the sharpness to 40, and the reason for this is most people assume that the higher the sharpness the better quality and detail, and they're completely wrong.

If you do what I said, you should end up with a crisp, smooth and colourful picture.
