Well if the wire connection/leads arent fully connected to the valve its possible the valve would not energize. (2 wires leading to the valve in which oyou hooke up water supply) perhaps came loose in shipping/delivery

Check your disposal. If newly installed the knock out plug was not removed. The smell could be food decaying. No water should be coming out of the vent on the sink.

Remove the rubber pipe from the dishwasher to the disposal.
Stick a screwdriver into the hole and look down the disposal from the top and see if you are able to see the screwdriver.
If not get a hammer and pop the plug out and reach in the disposal with your hand and retrieve the plug after you have unplugged the electrical cord.
Once the plug is out re-install the rubber pipe and secure it plug in your electrical cord and try your dishwasher again. Good Luck

I would remove the water line going to the dishwasher and let it run into a bucket. Sometimes on older shut off valves when you shut them off and try to turn them back on they get gunked up or dont open all the way. If you have good water pressure to the dishwasher then I would try replacing the inlet valve on the DW. Hope this helps.

Disconnect the heater and give a try without any load and soap. If it

machine. Mainly I suspect water seepage into the electrical system.

Is it OK to attach a hot water feed rather than cold water.

All dishwashers are suppossed to be connected to hot water. Who connected yours to cold water and why? Doesn't make any sense. Definately change it over to hot water feed.

Hi jamesward,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: Your dishwasher turns on and you can hear the motor but there doesnt seem to be any water going in

This may sound stupid but first make sure no one turned the water off to the d/w. If OK then you likely have a clogged or failed solanoid valve. The d/w must be removed for replacement. I don't recomend this for the average homeowner. You might consider utilizing our Repair Directory to find a repairman.

No water after new installation

Start the unit and let it run for 30-60 seconds to allow the sensors to detect water. The unit should start. If not, Loosen the water line at the valve and check for water. If there is water. the next step is to unplug the water valve electrical connection and check for voltage across the terminals. If there is power, change the valve. No power, the circuit card is suspect.

in some cases it is the water metering tank on the left hand side that gets bunged up and needs cleaning, next is the water feeding pipes. if everything is clean and the water valve supply is ok then it will need a special mod kit to be fitted, which will need to be fitted by a pro. tony.

Have a trouble: dish-washer will not drain.

I just moved into a new house and builder had provided a dish washer drain just below my kitchen drain line.

DIsh washer install was done by me, every thing worked out OK except dish washer would not drain after a wash cycle.

Cause: drain provided by builder was blocked and needed a circular small cut before mounting drain hose over it.
