We have a computerised AEG 1600 washing machine and the door will not unlock after the wash - tried everything including turning on and off, putting it on another full cycle, and leaving overnight. The first time it happened it un-locked overnight on its own. What is the problem?
The way we were able to open the washer door was to run a short cycle with no spin. If you open the filter door, BEWARE when turning the filter knob (?), as WATER LEAKED OUT QUICKLY. Put down towels before doing this.

Totally bizarre how stuff gets stuck in the drain!
To open door during mid cycle, turn off washer by plug and wait a couple of minutes until you hear a click, then the lock light ( assuming it has one ) will release, but make sure there is no water in the tub before opening the door. If possible when door is unlocked, run the drain setting and let the water pump out before hand. Hope this helps.
I also have problems with AEG Lavalogic 1600. It is caused by the control knob and the poor contacts. One service repair person fixed it and lasted 1 month. Then the problem reappeared. Now, I turn on the knob and the machine does not turn on, but I push lightly the button, not to a full path, just to cause a contact and it starts.
It seems that your problem is with the lid switch and it should be replaced.
The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. You have to raise the top of the washer to get to the switch.
