New cpu heatsinks use water in sealed tubing, and can cool for a long while. Idling computer may not need more cooling.

Dell inspirnon D610 authentic password recovery

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password and privileges. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. It sounds like your system might be running hot. Do you hear the fan running? If so it will turn on after it has cooled off, but once it gets hot it will turn off. If you immediately try to turn it back on, it won't work until the system has cooled off.

Laptops overheat because of the following problems:
1. Dust has clogged the Fans, Vents, CPU & Heat Sink Area
2. The FAN has stopped working
3. The Thermal Paste around the CPU and HeatSink has either dried up or is too thin to keep the system cool.

Try a can of compressed air and blow out the areas you can get to around the vents. You'll have to take the laptop apart to get to the Fan, CPU and Heatsink

jf the fan does not work, it will really cause the laptop to get hot. let it cool down for a longer period of time before you try to power it on again, then if it boots to Windows, update its BIOS. if that does not help, you'll need to get it serviced and the fan and even motherboard may need to be replaced including other components that may have failed

XPS M2010 boots in and everything works but fans

You can try installing this program that controls the fans on a Dell laptop. If this does not work you have a hardware issue with either the fans or the main board.http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html

after you install it you can go into the settings and turn on the monitors for the cpu, gpu, ram, and sometimes the hard drive. you can turn on the fan monitors too to make sure they are working. you can control the fans as well. i use it on all my dell laptops. it its not freezing becuse of overheating then it might be the hard drive or you might need to reinstall windows

Dell latidude d610 wont start properly

Can you select "safe mode" from the boot menu? As much as I hate to recommend it, I think you should wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows (I hope you backed up everything of value on your computer). If you can't successfully reinstall the operating system, then I'd say, in all likelihood, you have a defective hard drive which would need to be replaced.

My Dell Inspiron 700 laptop with Windows XP suddenly will not boo

Remove the hard drive, then see if you can boot to the XP CD. If you can, then the Hard DIsk Drive has most likely failed. Reseat the HDD and try booting to CD again. If problem comes back, try a new hard drive.
