Have you formatted your laptop to be included in your wireless network? If not, then you will never be able to connect to the internet. Also, if you are missing the correct drivers, there could be some effect on your wireless card.

Hello, im trying to install my wirless printer to my wireless computer and im having some difficulties. for example its asking me to check my wireless LAN access point.. I dont know waht that is? im...

The Canon is trying to connect to a wireless router or wireless access point which is connected to your computer network. Your Sprint 3g device is a wireless broadband device for Internet connection and cannot connect to the Canon using this device.
You need a wireless card that connects to the wireless router or wireless access point.
Otherwise you can connect to your printer using a printer cable.

I have a laptop running 802,11 g/b and vista and I Cant connect to linksys wag160n wireless router(802,11 n). laptop sometimes recognises network but when I try to connect it wont. could you help ?

Hi, You cannot connect across wireless protocols. In other words to connect to 802.11 n you need an "n" adapter.

Now, the router should be backward compatible & provide wireless g/b but you may find that when you search for networks it will be listed as a seperate network name (from the same router)

Try searching for this other network. Your router documentation should advise you of its default name & any set up process

Compaq presario v3000

Unless you are purchasing an old desktop PC, I am pretty sure any system you purchase these days (whether it's from Dell or whatever) have atleast an integrated LAN Rj45 connection on the motherboard.

The cheapest computer on dell.com (the Inspiron) has an integrated LAN connection for example.

Hope this helps,
Bill

Compaq evo n610c wireless lan w200 - is network card internal? or do i need to purchase a card to get my computer to work at a wi-fi location...i need to know what i have to do to get internet at other...

The EVO 610 has a built-in modem and a network LAN but no wireless LAN.
If you wish to connect to the Internet at home and elsewhere you have a few options.
You can use a PCMCIA wireless network card or a USB wireless device. These devices will allow you to connect to WiFi places such as Internet cafes or free WiFi locations such as McDonalads, Starbucks and airports etc.
OR
You can use an Internet Service Provider that provides country and or state wide roaming access, and they usually use wireless netword cards that integrate with the mobile (G3) network.

You need to check with various Internet Service Providers to see what they offer, the various plans, costs and also if they offer roaming access.
Be aware that connecting to public WiFi networks can have security issues if you are not protected.

Definition of the sound card, internet lan & wireless lan

The definition of the sound card, is a chipset integrated into the main board of your laptop, in order to provide sound to your built-in speakers, or to the headphone jack on your laptop. Internet LAN (or Local Area Network) is a port located either on the side or the rear of your computer, where you would plug in a Cable/DSL High-Speed Internet connection, using an Ethernet cable (also called RJ-45). Wireless LAN is the same idea, only instead of using an ethernet cable to provide you access to the internet, it uses a wireless signal or radio frequency, to connect to a wireless access point (usually provided by a wireless router in the area). Connected on Wireless but unable to connect on Internet

If not done allready, setup the lan IP address and default gateway in win98 Click MyComputer-ControlPanel-Network-Double Click TCP/IP Adapter for your 3com device-insert LAN info for IP Adress-subnet mask, Gateway and your Internet service providors DNS Addresses info Tab's (3x different Tabs "IP Adress" "Gateway" "DNS Configuration") IP Adress will be at least one number higher than your gateway address and not allready being used by other PC's on your network and gateway address will same as your router interface address subnet mask will be the same for all PC's on your network. For 3com and Netgear routers LAN setup is usually Gateway = 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 IP Adress = 192.168.1.10(choose alternate number than 10 if allready used by another PC on your network, try to use round numbers, must be a number higher than 1) Once all info is entered click OK (this may trigger a database info update message and task)now your LAN is setup and ready to talk to your network Restart PC and try browsing again. May possibly require reinstallation of the TCP/IP client (you double clicked this to setup your LAN in Win98) or reinstallation of the IIS(Internet Information Services)component found in, Add/Remove Programs-Add/Remove windows components and then try LAN setup again if this does not work first time round
