Maytag dependably quiet plus not starting

Hi, we have an older dishwasher about 6-7 years. It worked yesterday but won't start today at all. Sometimes it has to be bumpbed or the door sort of adjusted but none of that works today. It seems to be latching fine but the lights will not come on when the control knob is turned to any of the settings.

- How do I check connections with the door switch, does that mean taking off the front panel ? Sorry but new to dishwasher problems.

- Okay, I took off the panel, looked at the switches and everything looks attached etc. Wiggled some wires and it all looks okay but still no power at all. Any other suggestions besides calling a repair person?

- Thanks for the help, I did a bit more fiddling with the connections and managed to get power and from there I cleaned some of the connections and the door latch. It now works! As a mother of 3, it's nice to have it working again. Thanks.

check connections to the door switch.

- you have to take off the top part of panel the switches are near the door latch.unplug the dishwasher first or turn off the breaker.

- what is the model #? do you have a multi meter?sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere.
