Question about Sony Grand WEGA KF50WE610 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Without giving specifics, I'll cover most configurations.
Look for a thumb screw on the lower right "side" of the TV as you face the screen. If it exists, unscrew it and take the door off. Reach inside the cavity and lift the "D" ring and pull out the lamp. Insert the new lamp by tilting the lamp up on the left side (high voltage connector should be on the bottom), the "D" ring will raise and lower on its own when it seats. Reattach the door and it's done. If your set blinks the power light 3 times, you didn't get the door on correctly or the lamp isn't fully seated.
The other models require popping a facia panel off the front of the TV. To do this look for thumb screws on the rear of the set just below the corners of the screen. Loosen them until they are free from their threads, they will not come out completely as they are captive. Pull the plastic facia panel off the front of the TV. Find another thumb screw at the lamp door and loosen it, sliding the latch over to release the door. Use the long allen tool to loosen the bulb mounting screw and pull the bulb out. Reverse the sequence to reassemble.
