Most likely sounds like the thermal fuse has gone out. if you take off the top of the fireplace you will find a little metal tube in front of the blower. This is the thermal fuse if it has gone out only your fan will blow and the heating element will not put out heat. You can pick one of the fuses up at radio shack for 3 dollars. the only problem is how to go about repacing it since it was crimped in and you can't use a soldering iron because it will trip it. If I come up with a way to change it I will let you know so far I can't.

SOURCE: kenmore electric range - oven temp low and takes forever to heat

if lower element tests open with continuity meter then it for sure is bad. i would also check the wire ends that connect to the element and/or the control board, they could have loosened allowing a bad connection and low voltage to elementor burnt off.. most ovens do not use the broil element at all during the bake cycle, only during the broil cycle.. some however do utilize the broil element during baking, but at a lower wattage or something..
best of luck,

My Candy FPP6071X oven won't heat up. The grill and everything else is working fine. Any suggestions?

As you can see on the electrical diagram grill heating element (RG) work alone or in seria with inner lower heating element (RI) and based on the your statement, I conclude that does not work lower heater (RD). So, you should check resistance of lower heater (RD), contacts of change over switch (P7-7 and P6-6) and wiring. By the way, both heater (RI + RD) is integrated into a single heating element.

Hi Dave
I suggest you have the fireplace checked out.
Check the power rating of the fireplace, the power rating of the power connection, and the power rating of the fuse your house has for this unit. The fuse should be rated a little higher than the fireplace, and this should trip before the plug starts to heat up. It should not burn out.
There may be a short circuit, or the heating element in the fireplace may be faulty.
Get a professional to do this as you and your families safety is most important.

Electric range surface elements not working after self clean cycle.

It sounds like it is broken. You can bypass it by connecting the 2 wires together. This should be fine until you replace it. They aren't that expensive.

Heating element won't heat. Checked breaker, turned off then on, and can't see any fuses in control hatch everything else is working. reset clock, canceled all timers. What now!

Hi,

It gets tricky from there...

I would check for power at the element....if there is power and the element is not getting hot then you have a bad element.... 220 volts across the two wires to the element or more is considered proper power...

If there is no power there.... then you need to flow the wires back till you get power and that is where your problem is....

This is the best way to troubleshoot your oven...but a good quality electrical meter is needed.... and you need to be very careful when working with electric as it can kill you!!!

Baumatic oven not heating up. Grill and fan fine.

if it is the b180, the answer (having just fixed this) is really simple.

The coily bit is the oven element - it will have gone. A new one from eBay cost me about 6 quid.
[WHEN IT ARRIVES !]

Turn the power off.
Inside the oven use a philips screwdriver to remove the 4 screws (KEEP THEM !)
You will see a coily thing and a fan.

You unscrew 3 more screws (2 on the left and 1 on the right).
(KEEP THESE TOO!)

now ... bit tricky, have the new one inside the oven and take each wire off one at a time and put it on the new element.

Screw it back on but DONT put the last panel back in.

Turn the oven on maximum for about 2 minutes and see it glow red.

Turn the oven off. Make a cup of tea and have a couple of biscuits while admiring how good you are and waiting for the element to cool down!!!

Put the final panel back in place. Whole thing (including a cup of tea) takes about half an hour.

If there is an A only on the clock(no other digits) your clock has failed. Either replace , or can be bypassed. Oven won't work without clock set.

like another person stated-from the front behind the door, take off the 6 screws and the cover by the latch. there is an "oven hi temp limit switch" It is crome with 2 heavy black wires connected to it. On the back side of this is a small red button which will reset the limit switch. I had the same issue (everything worked except the any of the heating elements) and quickly resolved.
