Question about Hitachi 57F500 57" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Another IR Sensor problem (I think)

Like the other gentleman, my TV last night started to only respond sporaticly to both the TV's own remote and the Sat remote. It hasn't quit all together but it is definitely on it's last gasp. Is this a user replacable item or is it time to shell out some cash for a repairman?

Re: Another IR Sensor problem (I think)

If you get to the point where you can not use the remote anymore you will need the help of a repairmen to replace the remote receiver but before He does he needs to check if the receiver is receiving the necessary voltage to operate.

My remote no longer works with my tv. I think its the ir sensor but I don't know what it looks like to replace it. I have another tv of the same model for parts and need to know what the ir sensor...

You can confirm your remote's IR output by pointing to the phone camera and if the remote works it will be seen as a flash on the camera. Now after confirming the remote then the the IR detector on teh TV can be checked. It is always mounted on the FRONT panel and is a small DIODE mounted to face the IR panel ****. It is easily seen and can be checked using a multimeter . In the Ohmn's range in one direction a flash of light will increase the flow and continuity when the probes are held across the diode. If teh IR is good then it is a fault on the processor controller.

My verizon fios remote control stop to control the 65" cinema series toshiba tv.the remote seems to be ok.The oryginal tv remote doesnt control it also.I think that there is something wron with the tv...

Yes, most likely the sensor is at fault - more precisely it's connections to the motherboard are iffy. You must take the back cover off the tv and reseat them. While you are there check their soldering points - with age they tend to melt and get loose.

I have a White Westinghouse television and I unplugged it, in order to change my room around. Now I can't get my remote to work with my television!

If the TV went in standby and does not wake up, that means that a fault had been detected, and that the TV is in protect mode. In that case the TV will not turn up even using the buttons on the TV panel, and the cause for not starting is not the remote. Read more here on protect: tv_not_start_up_remains_in_standby.

If instead the TV is turning on using the touch button, but the remote is not operating the TV, then check first remote battery. The remote can be fully tested only using an IR receiver. If the remote is working and the TV is not responding to remote, then the IR board is broken or disconnected.
The IR board is located inside the TV, behind the front sensor. It is accessed removing TV backpanel. The part is cheap, usually worth from $10 to $30.
The repair must be done by a trained technician. The part can be purchased from manufacturer, calling the number listed on manual, or from online distributors as Vance Baldwin (Encompass Parts), Partstore, or Shopjimmy.

Uverse standard remote control stops working at night

The remote stops working the Uverse box or the TV or both?
Try putting the Uverse box behind the plane of the TV screen so the I.R. that the TV emits doesn't get to the front of the Uverse box.

Pioneer SD-582HD5 - screen went black, no sound, Poor remote feed

The blue tube might be leaking coolant in the high voltage area, that is the cause of the POP. This repair might not be a DIY because of the lethal high voltage surrounding the CRTs tubes.
The slow response from the remote could be because the coolant has affected the main board where the IR signal are going to the remote sensor.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

IR pickup on the bottom of the screen cabinet

Yes the infrared sensor is located inside the set usually up front. You can tell its the IR because it will have a wire harness plugged into it. And a small sensor board maybe a small canister also. You may have to go in throu back, if you cant get in behind speaker cover.
