There is a semi-circle piece on top of the paper drawer that draws in the paper (on the left top side). There is a black rubbery substance on the circular part of this piece that has become very sticky and gooey. Everytime I go to print, the paper being drawn in from the tray gets stuck on this gooey piece to cause a jam. I can't find the name of this piece in the manual to try and order another. Is there something I can do to just clean the gooey rubber part, or a rubber piece to replace on the semi circular part? Or give me a name of the part and where to order! Thanks!

your wheel on one side is impacted with small pieces of paper this causes the paper flow to go unevenly you need to clean you wheels on both sides oil them and wipe dry with a paper towel then do the paper feed jam clear and let a few pieces go thru to pick up any remiaining debris
Hello, first, do you copy from second drawer or bypass tray or first drawer?
Open the left door, in lower section open the paper cover. Now remove drawer. If You look from the left door side beneath the drum unit, you will see axis with 2 rollers, CLEAN them with alcohol or water by rubbing them, and dry them with dry cloth. Also if you look little closer beneath the axis with rollers you will see the two rollers ( grey, one above the other ) clean them also or replace them if the rubber on them are too smooth.
If the problem appears when copy from second drawer, i.e. A3, you need to replace the pick-up clutch!
If the problem appears when copy from bypass, clean the bypass feed roller.
Hello, first, pull out the top drawer and open the right lower cover and door. now if you look into the "hole" where was drawer, on right side you will see the 3 rollers that pick, feed and separates the paper. Remove all rollers and clean them with alcohol and dry them out, or change the places with rollers from lower drawer. Also when the right door are opened you will se two axis with two rubber rollers, clean them very well. The iR2270 has issues with pressure on lower right cover and you need to put the rubber or similar in wide and narrow slot on lower cover, so that when its closed presses the inner paper guide which touches the rollers on axis. If You already have metal "wings" on lower cover, you don't need to apply any additional pressure. But necessarily change the roller for paper of both cassete's and in fixing unit the fixing cleaning roller.
Marie, there is something stuck between the paper tray and the transport section of the copier. Probably a small piece of paper. try to push a piece of paper up from the tray to the rest of the machine to push this obstructing paper out of the paper path. Also try using the handfeed section on the right hand side of the machine by folding down the tray and putting paper in it. You may have to choose this "manual" feed tray on the operation panel. Good luck !
this is an issue with the papper feed and pickup rollers if it is not taking the paper from draw you need to replace the pickup and feed rollers also check the paper feed clutch if no good replace as well
Also make sure also make sure the paper is being lifted up when you close the draw you should hear the tray lifting the paper up to the feed system

I too kept getting the front cover paper jam despite followings Oki's paper jam removal instructions and blowing out the printer with compressed air.
In my case, the paper drawer was the problem. When you pull out the drawer there is a spring loaded piece of white plastic at the very front of the drawer. In the center of that is a gray rubber strip. That strip had come loose in the center and bowed out, preventing paper from exiting the paper drawer. I manually removed the strip, clipped off a little piece from one end so that it fit back in the recessed cavity on the white plastic piece and glued it back down.
This should be applicable to all Oki c5xxx color LED printers.
