Question about Whirlpool GD2SHGX Refrigerator

Water Dipenser is not working

Suddenly the water is not dispensing. This has been like this for 3-4 weeks now. Ice maker works. Ice dispenser works. Checked water filter. replaced it. Bypassed it. Still water does not dispense. Can it be a bad solonoid? How can I troubleshoot this. Any advice. Thanks in advance

Re: Water Dipenser is not working

Ajay, couple of things you want to check. First thing is to check the reservoir itself. Remove the drawers on the refer side and see if the tubing is frozen up. It will be on the back side of the refer compartment. Take a hair dryer and go lightly across the plastic coils for a while and then try to dispense the water. The ice-maker line and water line are seperate. As long as you hear the water lever paddle making the switch, you should be ok there. Next would be the valve itself. You can ohm it out, check for continuity or take a cheater cord 120V. across the terminals and see if the valve operates. Be very carefull with the cheater as you are working with live back.

Fix icemaker

Start at the water valve at back of unit and work your way to the ice maker. Make sure the hose at the back of the frig isn't block. Also that the arm on the maker is down and in the on position. If all this checks, then go back to the solenoid that turns the water on and off to the ice marker.

GE GSH25JFRF BB ice maker doesn't dispense. Water dispenses and ice maker makes ice but won't come out.

There should be a plastice hinge cover on the left top hinge on freezer door. Take it off and press the plug together firmly. Try that and let me know, Sea Breeze

Refrigerator dispenses ice, but does not dispense water?

Unfortunately, the housing that the water filter fits into is also the housing for the solenoid controlled water valve, and that is the most likely failure item.

I have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator and the water dipenser quit working, the ice maker works fine. Any solutions?

Check water valves on back of fridge, one is for the ice maker and other is for water dispenser. Need to get the correct and complete model number listed on front and near floor behind the fresh food door. Problem may be the water valve in back or the dispenser switch on the front. let me know and I will try to get it going for you.
Thanks, Sea Breeze
