The resolution on the computer is not supported by the projector. Go to your Display settings and adjust your screen resolution.

Hitachi CPS-220 is saying 'RGB is out of range' when connected to PC.

This would indicate that the display settings on the PC are outwith the acceptable range of the projector.
To solve this, right-click on a clear part of your PC desktop and select "Graphics Properties" (in Vista). You then need to adjust the display settings. That is a very old projector which will accept a maximum screen resolution of 1024 x768 pixels. Try changing that 1st. If it doesn't work, keep that screen resolution and also adjust the refresh rate in Hz until you get an image.
The native resolution of that projector is SVGA (800 x 600 pixels).

Try lowering the resolution on your computer then try again. Once the resolution is too high you will get this error message.

Signal out of range I keeop getting the above

the resolution does not match from the computer to the projector. reset the settings on the projector to factory default. if that does nothing, drop the resolution on your computer. if you are doing hd video, check to see if your projector can handle that. if it's more than 3 years old, chances are it cannot.

New bulb in a hp vp6220 projector

We have a number of these at the school I provide support at and just recently I've had to replace the lamps in six of these.

I've found the method HP details a bit hit and miss, i.e. you might have to try doing a few times before you get the message. First power off the projector and then remove all inputs to it, it won't work if you have anything still plugged in other than the power. Re-apply the power and then press and hold the up button. You should now get a message on the screen 'reset lamp hours for new lamp - press [auto sync] to reset', press the auto sync button as soon as you see this message as it soon goes off.

You can then check via the menu to make sure the lamp hours has been reset to zero.

HDCP compatible

There is no fix to this. basically HP did not make the HDCP very robust. It will DHCP with some DVD players, not all. HP is calling this a computer projector and down play the issue. No fix, try different DVD players. I had good luck with Toshiba HD.

Not sure what is wrong with the chat, but if you get this message, we can start a support session and we will be able to chat again, and while doing so I can correct the setting.
