Read the following link:

A common problem with this model washer, is the air hose coming loose from the pressure switch. Hopefully, that's all the problem is and this will take minimal effort and no parts to fix. I've seen this problem numerous times in the field. Read through the link thoroughly and let me know if you require additional assistance. I hope this helps.

If the water continues to flow into the washer with power removed from the washer, ie; unplugging it, then the water valve is faulty.

My whirlpool washing machine wont stop filling with water after the wash cycle

your post is vauge

does it over flow
you mean it wont stop the rinse cycle

did you check it for a reset
do a factory reset

the machine will fill with water until the flow sensor and level has filled

so check and clean the machine

i find a couple of dishwasher cleaner tabs thru it first will clean all the flows and pipes and use a 60 deg long wash for whites
i think all the electro is aok so must be dirt

Doesn't fill

Possible that the water level sensor is faulty as it tends to indicate before the level has reached thereby starting the rinse cycle.
Usually this can be due to faulty level settings or fault in the pressure switch as it can be acting too fast. It will be best to clean the inlet valve and check the flow , test the water level sensor and see if this works by blowing into the diaphragm.

I put in a load. The machine filled up but did not stop filling. The dial did not proceede to next step, it stayed at the 10. Overflowing EVERYWHERE. When we moved the dial manually to spin, it drained...

your fill switch is either bad or "gllitched" and the timer cannot move until this switch senses the right amount of water for the load unless its an electronically sensed water/load capacity filled machine, when it starts, the water fills the unit and the pressure switch shuts the water fill off when at selected water level and powers the timer to continue the wash cycle,it works off a "bellows" on air pressure to change a switch by air pressure to operate the machine when full of water

Washer didnt fill when turned on, but filled when holding "reset"

sounds like your water level switch is bad OR the small hose that goes from the waterlevel switch to the bottom of the tank has a hole in it.Try replacing this small hose first.you can go to an auto parts store and match it up.it's usually about 3' long and about 1/4" inside diameter and about 99cents a foot.

Water level does not stop will flow over the top

If you have a time-fill machine, you have a bad time control. This would make it run too long. If it is a pressure fill machine, you may have a pressure switch that is stuck. not sure which you have. If you stand there and advance the timer, does everything work ok?
