The place you purchase the set from has to help you or guide you in the right direction so you get the set service, if they dont tell them you will bring the setback to them for a refund or exchange, the manufacture is the responsible one but stores also have something to do.

Trying to replace lamp in HDTV and having trouble. Does not function correctly after putting in new bulb. Boots up and then visuals go black and the green power light keeps flashing. Help?

Panasonic DLP TV Bulbs

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

TY-LA1001 Timer reset

While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.

TV turns off and standby light blinks. Blinks 3 times, pauses, blinks again 3 times.

Hi there,
Three blinks means technically 'B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.'
After a little more research i found this comment:

"Guys I have found the problem. (referring to T603 and R672) I have found mine anyway. When I replaced my projection lamp, I failed to push the lever all the way down, but this was not the problem, just something you need to be sure to check. The problem was the lamp door. This needs to be shut properly. I found another thread where a guy had tried the same thing. It worked. The door clicks hard at the end to set itself. This worked for me. Hope it helps you."

IMPORTANT: After you repair the unit, you MUST clear the values on this diagnostic screen. These codes do not reset themselves after the fault is corrected, so if you don't clear them, you'll be seeing "old" fault codes the next time you enter this screen. Clearing is done by going into the service mode (display, channel, 5, volume plus, then power ). Press 8 and Enter, which returns everything to the factory preset condition.

So my question is have you replaced the lamp?

Hope this helps

Replaced bulb on sony KDF-42WE655, When power turns on then turns off with 3 flashs of red light continuouis?

SD Tech,
With your kind permission if I may provide info...
3 times red light blinking shows that lamp cover has not been fixed in its place securely after lamp replacement.
Make sure lamp cover, its the first plastic cover that was removed to replace lamp, is back in its position properly then turn On tv.
This plastic lamp cover engages safety micro switch inside tv cabinet.

I have a similar problem with the Sony 60" wega SXRD rear projection TV. The green light blinks on the power/display LED and the picture comes on for a few seconds and then the screen goes black . Then the...

I believe 4 blinks is fan error. You can take back off and watch fans in particular the fan for the lamp (this one goes out the most) The TV has a sensor so it knows if the fan turns. You can take a pencil and use it to spin fan sometimes that will jump start it (not a permanent fix just a test). You can try cleaning dust off fan and replugging the connector on the wires coming from fan.Might fix it if not fan will need replacement.

Won't turn on. Green power light blinks for 30 seconds and then red lamp light blinks constantly

If the lamp light is lit, it is likely a bad lamp. If you remove the lamp from the set, you will either see shards of glass in the housing and/or a very cloudy reflector (it should look like a mirror). Be sure to use an original Sony lamp as the replacements are trouble makers. Please be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!

Sony KDF-46E2000 - Screen Goes Blank

You definitely have a bad lamp. Sony rates the lamp life at between 4000 and 8000 hours. There are 3 things that effect the lamp life, listed in order of importance:
1) number of times the lamp is turned on and off. Every time the lamp is first fired, it takes life off the lamp. Customers I see that turn the TV on in the morning, leave it on all day and then turn it off on the evening can get up to 12000 lamp hours
2) ventilation. Be sure you have at least 6 inches of open space all the way around the set and that the vents are clear of dust and debris.
3) power. If the power is interrupted when the set is on, there cannot be a proper cool down cycle. The fans will run after you turn the set off to properly cool it down, if the power is lost this cannot happen. If your power is unreliable, buy a small UPS to let the set finish a cool down cycle

Occasionally a lamp will faill before the average lamp time due to being defective. from your purchase date it sounds like you got about average lamp time. Be sure to purchase AN ORIGINAL SONY LAMP as a replacement, becuase the aftermarket lamps are bad news, Be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
