Hi Mike.

Well I got good news and bad news Mike. Good news is your already knew what to do. "Go to the local shop", Bad news is that the guys at your local shop are apparently tools. The chances of some1 stumbling across your thread here and accurately having the info you need is 1000 less likely than going to the shops.

The only thing I could think for you to do is change shops Mike. The information a good fire arm salesman should have would provide you with the answer you need. You should be able to phone around to a few shops and and talk to the sales people. Ask them if the parts are order able, not in stock. If they are determined to be in orderable then the most likely person in the world to find you a fitting "replacement caps" would be these type of people.

GL Mike
I hope you already found it by now

How to sight in crosman extreme g1 pellet rifle scope

You would sight in an air rifle scope in the same manner as any other standard scope that you might find on a rifle:

You want to secure the rifle as best you can with the sights pointed towards a target, which should be set at the desired distance.

Reduce the error of your sight adjustments either by mounting the rifle in a gun mount or simply resting the stock (not the barrel!) on a solid surface such as a table.

Make sure that the weight of the rifle is carefully supported and the **** is firmly pressed into your shoulder. Looking through the sights, aim at the very center of the target (which for your purposes can be as simple as a piece of paper with a dot drawn in the middle).

Take time to ensure a careful shot, and be sure to avoid any shaking, utilizing the support of the mount/table (try resting the fore-grip of the stock on a roll of paper towels if you're having trouble keeping the rifle steady).

Once you are confident with the placement of the cross-hairs over the center of the target, gently squeeze (don't pull) the trigger.

Determine where the pellet struck the target, and adjust the scope accordingly; while every scope is a little different, the same basic principles for adjustment apply. Unscrew the caps on the top and side of the scope, and carefully read the markings on the adjustment dials.

If the pellet struck low, twist the dial on the top of the scope 'up' (the markings should specify clockwise/counter), and if the pellet struck high, twist in the opposite direction. If the pellet struck to the left or right, follow the same procedure for the dial on the side of the scope.

If the pellet struck low and to the side, make the vertical (up/down) adjustments first, repeat the shot, and only move on to make adjustments left/right once the pellet strikes in vertical alignment with the center of the target.

Take your time, and adjust in increments of only 2-3 clicks to start. Repeat the procedure until the pellets are striking consistently in the center of the target (if you're having a hard time remembering which shot went where, replace the target and continue.

Once you are satisfied with placement of your shot groupings on the targets, replace the dial covers on the scope.

Tips and Notes:
- In order to maintain the accuracy of your rifle, try to avoid resting the rifle on its scope and try to prevent the barrel from contact.

- Take note of your rifle's range, and be aware that the further away you place the target, the less consistent your results will be.

- Be realistic; don't attempt to sight in an air rifle at 50 yards. Remember that even with a rifle that has been professionally sighted, good results still come down to the accuracy of the shooter.

-Sight in your rifle at a range where you are confident in your own abilities; start with a closer target and only move back (i.e. sight in at a greater distance) if necessary.

1. HOW TO READ SCALING OF SCOPE.? 2. What is

You have not provided enough information for us to help you. What type of rifle? What do you mean by scaling?

With the scope on 3 power you should be able to sight it in at 25 meters. Going to a higher magnification may cause blurring at that distance.

You also may have mounting problems that are causing the scope to move around when you shoot. Your rifle may be fine.

Mildot sight scopes are NOT range finders unless it is etched into the scope itself. You will need to buy a range finder that is separate.

Tasco scope

Sight in rifle.Put top(elevation)cap back on with the"0" facing back.Be careful not to make it "click"as this will change point of impact. The way this works is you aim at animal and adjust the power(3-9)until the animal's body is between the 2 lines.Look in the little window on eyepiece to see distance of selected animal. Then click top knob to the correct distance(200,300,etc.)This should raise bullet impact for that distance.I've had this scope on a .270 since 1980 and never used this feature.(I only bought it because the scope was on sale)

Adjustment Issue

the scope should all ways be fitted with the wind adjustment on the right as you look down the rifle, therefor the top ajuster is for up/down,
right ajuster is wind,,left/right, the easy way to set it up is to aim at some sand with the rifle on a stand or in a jig, shoot one round see were it hits and without moving the rifle, turn the turrets till the cross is over the point were the bullet landed, having a pall to move the turrets for you helps a lot here, the main point is dont move the rifle till the turrets have been moved first,, its that or bore sight it,,, jig the rifle up pointing at a target at say 200yds look down the bore aim the bore at the target lock down the rifle check it by looking down the bore again then set the cross up in the scope on what you see down the bore
you will need to tweek the scope a bit as you havent taken the bullet drop into the ajustment that way,,

CAN NOT ZERO GUN

You may try to bore sight it first. Pull the bolt and setting the gun on a good rest sight thru the barrel at a dot on the wall within ten feet. Then adjust the scope to that dot. As you adjust the scope tap the bore of the scope with a screw driver handle, tap it after each adjustment not hard, but enough to give it a sharp jolt. Once you are close here, move out to the range and shoot at 15 yards. Using a rest, again tap the scope after each adjustment. Then move out to 50 yards and you will want to be shooting high 1.5 to 2 inches here. Shoot slow keep the barrel cool and try for 2 shot groups till you have got the scope dialed in. Then move out to 100 yards for your preference of zero. Remember use the same ammo you will hunt with or at least the same bullet weight. If you can't get her to get on paper you can try to loosen the scope in the rings, one at the time once the gun is a little warm. Loosen the barrel ring first then snug it back down and then the receiver ring. If your group moved now, she was in a bind due to a cold gun at set up / installation.

When adjusting for a couple of inches, the next shot is a foot off. It seems to wander all over the target.

! click is 1 inch @ 100 yards, provided you have the correct scope for the rifle.
If you are sighting in a .22 LR 40 grain match velocity bullet for 100 yards, the mid range trajectory (50 Yards) is 6" higher. The bullet has a 6" arc half way to your target. If you are sighting in a .270 with 150 grain blunt tail bullets for 250 yards, the mid range trajectory is .4 higher. It only has 4/10" arc half way.
You most match the scope to the gun, and the 1 click= 1 inch rule will apply. Otherwise, it's lock it into a righd mount, fire it and adjust the scope accordingly. If you want to change the range on the scope, it will be guesswork.
I use a Bushnell Banner 3-9X40 with BDC. If you have BDC, make sure you have the correct distance ring in for the caliber.. It will make all the difference in the world.

How do you sight it true for the rifles prior to using the windage and elevation turrets. All other scopes I,ve seen with range compensators have the ability to be sighted in. I can't figure out how to...

You can get a base line by bore sighting the scope. Bore sight kits are a bit pricy, might be best to take it to a gun range an start at 15 yards shoot a few move out to 25 the 50 then 100. Yes your scope should be sighted for one gun one round, with a cold barrel. Let it cool between shots.
