What size central a/c,heater do I need to cool-heat a 2400 sq/ft house in west Texas

You haven't included enough information to give you an accurate number. Things to consider are:
- R value of attic and wall insulation
-cubic footage of the living area
-are the windows single double or triple paned... low E ?
-how many hours of direct sun?
-how many points of return air do you have?

Its better to over size your system than to undersize.

One more thing to consider.... heat rises, cooled air falls and if you want to run your ducting under the house? insulate the crawlspace walls.

THE FAN WONT SHUT DOWN ON MY DUCTED HEATING. THE HEAT DOES BUT NOT THE FAN. IT SEEMS THAT THE ON/OFF BUTTON ON THE WALL UNIT IS NOT WORKING. THERE IS NO REMOTE CONTROL FOR IT.

Check the thermostat ... assure the "FAN" setting has not been set. FAN makes the fan run all the time. You want your switch to be set on "AUTO"

Prevent any direct sunlight from heating up the room the unit is in. Clean the dust filter every month or as often as it needs it. Limit using any heat generating appliances such as stoves, ovens, microwave ovens, hair dryers, etc.,..

Unless the new unit is 24 volt thermostat convertible inside the unit, you will have to use a line voltage(120v) wall thermostat.

Vulcan CX Central ducted heating. RE: Following a power outage the control panel does not respond, I have checked the pilot light and it is still on. I need to know how to reset the time and get it to...

The control panel gets its power from the central heating unit's power point. Try turning the power off outside at the powerpoint next to the ducted heating unit and try turning it on again after a few seconds, see if it resets

Vulcan ducted heating not working

How many wires for the thermostat do you have? If you tell me I can help. The green flashing, instead of red, in my experience, means a thermostat problem.
