My computer Ever sham e-style ii suddenly stop to give out sound, spekers connected perfectly and sound driver available.

Samson,
Have you done any operating system updates lately? If so, this may be the cause for the sound not working anymore.

Roll back to a previous point in time with System Restore from Windows. The link to get started can be found here:

Proper wiring my hp pavilion p6 2330pc and my hp printer

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=5296967&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en

1) DO NOT connect printer to computer!

2) Put the Installation Disk for the printer, in the optical drive of your computer. (Comes with the printer)
If you do not have this disk, post back in a Comment.

You will download the software from HP Support.
I need the printer model name, and model number.
Also what Windows operating system you are using.

(It cannot be assumed what Operating System you are using.
May not be the one that came with the computer)

If you have the Installation Disk, load ALL software.
(One example; HP Photosmart Full Feature Software & Drivers)

[Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device

The device is the Printer. The O/S wasn't stated.

The Full Feature software covers all the software the printer needs.
If it is a unit that can Scan, Copy, Print, and Fax, for example;
all of that software will be loaded ]

ONCE the software is loaded, restart your computer if not asked.
After Windows has loaded again, let the computer run for a few minutes.

Now restart the computer.
(WinXP example; Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart)

Plug the USB cable from the printer into the computer.
Turn the printer on.

After a few seconds you should get a pop-up in the taskbar,
"Found new hardware device"
And perhaps another one,
"Found HP XXXXX device "

(X's stands for model name/number of printer)

IF,.......you have connected the printer FIRST, then attempted to install software -> This = NO.

You can get a driver conflict.
Post back in a Comment if this is what you have done.

[When a device (Printer in this case), is connected, Windows 'breaks it's neck' to find suitable, matching drivers.

If THE drivers are not there, Windows will pick from it's THOUSANDS of generic drivers.

Now you you install THE drivers needed, and there is a driver conflict;

Windows: "Which ones do I use? These or THESE?" ]

Post the printer model name, and model number. This can be found on the Back of the printer.

(This is the type of USB cable end, that usually plugs into a printer,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_connector#Cable_plugs_.28USB_1.x.2F2.0.29

Type B. It is also a Male plug. So it's a USB B Male.

Square shape with two corners cut off.

The USB A Male connector is the one that plugs into the computer.
(Type A)

Rectangle shape )

I have a IBM NetVista PC Desktop. It worked fine at my office then I brought it home when we upgraded. Now when I turn it on it whirs then beeps a few times then goes idle.

The answer is yes, but you would need to have an OS disc. The license to the software should be on the side of the computer; however, to get this back in working order I would suggest to reload the operating system completely. The company that bought this may have added (or taken away) some features that may be useful to your use but not theirs. Also, by reloading the operating system you will be not only removing any information that may have been left behind from the company, but it will also remove any security limitations set by the company.

Now, if you don't have the disc let me ask this. If the computer display shows anything that resembles "Press F11 for Factory Restore" or something to that effect when it boots up?

Something else might be that pressing F8 when you boot the computer may bring you into a "menu" environment that may have a selection of "repair my computer" (or to that effect) and if you go through that, there may be an option to "restore to factory". This option will bring the PC back to the day it was taken out of the box.

Then just update the software and move on. Good luck.

Compaq Presario S3040SE PC Desktop was working fine. when i turned it on next day screen says operating system not found. restart. now monitor wont kick on and hard drive light doesnt come on. only power...

Normaly when you get the error that the operating system cant be found, it is a indication that the hardrive has either gone bad, or somehow some of the system files got deleted. I would say though since the hard drive light wont come on it could be the hardrive has shut down completely. But you still should see the company image of your computer when you start it up, (the bios screen)

A bad hardrive would be my first guess, 2nd problem if its not your harddrive would be a new power supply.

DELL XPS 730X WON'T BOOT

Typically, the problem would be memory or operating system.

First, reseat (remove and reinsert) the memory and reboot. If still a problem, and you have more than one module, insert one at a time and reboot to see if problem resolved.

If not, press F8 repeatedly to go into Safe Mode. Find System Restore and choose an earlier date when your system worked. Please not that System Restore will restore your data (documents, etc.) to an earlier time.

Hope this helps.

Operating system will not load

Hi,
If all the diagnostics have passed. This means the problem is more or less a software conflict and that too a driver issue. Two things you can do.

1. remove all the memory sticks from the computer
2. Reinsert only one stick of memory, if you have only one try it in a different slot
3. Then power on the system

Kindly post back the results

Thanks

the operating system has frozen during its boot process, restart the computer, after post screen hit F8 a few times, you will get a sub-menu, chose "last known good configeration" and press enter, hopefully the system will re-boot into vista
