Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 Digital Camera
Problem for Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 Digital Camera

Camera powers on, then off

By bonadrag14 on Oct 01, 2006

My Lumix DMC-LZ2 powers on, lens goes all the way out, camera says "please turn camera off and then on again" so I turn it off and lens doesn't return in closed mode, stays out in zoom.

Turn it back on and zoom returns in, then out again and same message appears.

Anyone had this problem before? Pls. help as I think it would be cheaper to buy new camera than send it to Panasonic repair to get fixed, but I liked this camera :(

Thanks!

- Like many of you, I couldn't justify sending my camera to Panasonic when a new camera would probably cost less. I've stared and cursed many hours, took it to several different places, then gave up. GOOD NEWS!! I think a tiny spec of dirt or sand got lodged in it. Unscrewed the four side screws, tested it and it worked. I don't know if this will solve others' problems, but it worked for me. Maybe it was pressure? I did see something tiny (like a grain of sand) in the middle of my lens INSIDE, and it did move around. But it works, and I'm happy. Again, all I did was unscrew those 4 screws on the sides, not on the bottom. Good luck!

The same thing happemed to me and when I turn the caera off the lens won't go back in. After a while I get annoyed but its not my fault i think the camera does not like me?!?

Solution:

Just let the camera be and then it will maybe be better than before. Trust me I did this and it works but still the lens won't go in?!?!?
