Can't get my BC560xlt to accept a program

I have an older BC560XLT that has decided it won't accept a program anymore. When I turn it on the display reads "L". It still scans and will squelch if in weather mode but does not appear to be recieving anything even on weather.

Internal problem, can be repaired by a tech familiar with Bearcat scanners, but probably not worth the cost. If you're near NJ, call 973-831-5900.

Unfortunately due to the age of this model we no longer have any information nor repairs available for this model. This unit has not been manufactured in a substantial amount of time and we no longer have any information available for this unit. You may want to try a Google search for more information.

I have a Uniden BC560XLT police scanner. I don't know how to use it.

Why not go to the Uniden website for information. You may be able to download a copy of the manual for your scanner or get some basic information regarding programming

Im looking for uniden bearcat 560xlt owner manual i ca print

The BC560XLT is the same as the Radio Shack Pro-2025 as far as button function. I was able to find the manual for the Pro-2025 in PDF which can be printed.

Uniden Bearcat bc560xlt scanner What radio bands (frequencies) will this radio monitor?

The BC560XLT is a basic 16-channel scanner that covers 29-54, 136-174, and 406-512 MHz. For information on the users of these bands, and complete information on using this scanner, you can download and print the operating manual here:

How to program bearcat colt scanner

The only information I could find on the Colt is that it is "similar" to the BC560XLT. You can download and print the 560 operating manual via the link below. I hope it helps.

Can someone help me

UNiden manuals are downloadable at their website located http://www.uniden.com/index/manuals_results.cfm?cat=3 To find the local frequencies, the easiest way to find them is a google.com search. Type in your county name and "radio frequencies". Then follow the directions to enter them into your radio. To UNDERSTAND what all the "10-codes"that all the police and fire companies use, google. "radio 10 codes" and you'll get alot of helpful info to download. Have a blast, but don't chase any ambulances.. k

Uniden bearcat scanner

The scanner was probably turned off and it forgot what frequencies were programed into it. Older scanners have a problem with retaining their memory when they are shut off. Most of the older scanners have a memory back-up battery that helps the scanner retain its memory. Check and see if this battery is still good. As for your frequencies, you'll have to reprogram the scanner. To put it in technical terms, some older scanners have what is called RAM (Regency Alterable Memory) and ROM (Regency Organized Memory), when you turn off you scanner, this memory is erased, along with your programmed channels. Be sure not to turn off your scanner unless you're willing to reprogram the scanner.
