Question about HP LaserJet 2840 Printer

1 Answer

LANGUAGE SETTINGS Big problem- I've had the printer for some time now.. Never had any problems with whatsoever until lately a situation has occurred. My father attempted to replace the ink cartridges and while pressing random buttons, he set the language display into what it looks like in Russian- We went looking for the owner's manual and its nowhere to be found. If anyone could please tell what to do, step by step would be much appreciated.. unless if anyone has a spare or know where to download a copy of the manuals... Thanks

Well, i fixed it the long way- while the display is in Russian, I spent 2 hours scheming through every single menu item until eventually I saw the word "English", then I hit the <enter> button- and voila! The printer re-booted itself back to normal, and everyones happy. Not quite a tech solution but least it worked..

I have a X6650 lexmark all-in-one printer and i need to change the language. how can i do it . ihave tried everything that i know and nothing works please help me thank you l

You need to reset the printer to default settings (note: this does not affect wireless settings). Turn off the printer by pressing the power button for four seconds. Press and hold Start (green circle) and the Cancel (red X) buttons on the operator panel, then press power button to turn the printer on. Continue holding down Start and the Cancel button until Language Selection appears. Choose your preferred language. Set the country, date and time and the fax settings if you have one. Thank you for choosing Lexmark.

Change language setting back to english

Hope you got it working already. If not, unplug the power supply (the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached) with the power cord still attached to it and the other end still plugged in to the power outlet. Hold down Start and Cancel buttons at the same time. While holding down the buttons, plug the power supply back in the printer. Continue holding down firmly the two buttons until English language selection appears on the screen. Then, let go of the two buttons and set your printer like your setting it up for the first time - choose language, set the time and date. By the way, this doesn't change network settings in the printer.
