Question about GE Profile WPRE6100G Top Load Washer

Makes a grnding sound when washing(not always) & does not spin all the water

I have only had my washer(GE Profile top loader King size) for 4 months and it makes a terrible grinding noise sometimes while washing, and does not always drain out all the water. I don't think the clothes come as clean as they should either. I do not over load my washer or dryer.

My washer sounds like yours. I had an appliance repair guy out, he told me that the pulley on the bottom of the transmission was loose, so he tightened it, told me not to put a bunch of money in the machine "because they have all kinds of problems" and then charged me $95.00. Two weeks later...same problem. They are coming out tomorrow. He did say that if metal shavings get in the transmission, it is over...

This problem happen to me a few months back--washer was 6 months old. A technician came out and told me that I must have loaded the washer after the water was in the tub. He stated that I must load my washer prior to running the water in because the water fill amount is based on weight; therefore it was now weighing too much. Go figure...have always loaded the washer with water first and clothes last. I always put clothes in first then the water--I must say, the problem has not reappear.

Hope this helps.

Not enough water to wet all the clothes.

Either the water level switch has bad calibration or the water level tube has lost its air seal and needs to be refitted and air locked. If you do not know how to go about these tasks, call someone with experience. Goodluck, Macgivor

GE profile top loader washer will not fill with water at all!!

do you hear any humming when it asks for water? do you have flood stop hoses? if you have flood stop hoses take them off this could be your problem. sounds like the unit thinks its full of water if it only washes and spins sounds like you have a bad pressure switch. this should be a covered repair if the unit is brand new. let me know if you have any other questions

Moldy smell inside GE profle top loader washer

Check the pump and make sure that it is draining the water. There will always be a little water left over but you should never be able to hear it very easily. Once you check the pump and make sure it is operating properly check the water sensor to make sure that it is acuratly reading the water hieght. After that take one cup of Vinegar and run a hot load of water will kill the mold and clean your system out
