My Dell Precision Workstation wont reconize any boot device how do I fix this

This sounds like root kit virus.you need to either remove drive and piggyback to another computer and run a full virus check macafee or kapersky have root kit checkers.or leave it in place and get hold of a Hirens boot disc .this is free multi programmed fix disc and downloadable , just google this.you can then burn it to disc or USB.go to bios to select drive order and then the disc will install a small xp windows version on the ram so the hard drive doesn't need to be involved .test disc is a good program to try when hdd remain unseen , one of the many tools on hirens.this will correct the mft of the hdd which can also prevent it being recognised by windows.

DRIVER DISC - NOT RECOGNISED BY COMPUTER ON WHICH I,M TRYING TO INSTALL

CD/DVD player is no good (does it play other discs and are they DVD or CD that it plays, could be a dirty laser use cleaning disc), the disc is not compatible with your player (DVD disc in CD player), corrupt disc, no auto-run on disc, no files on disc. The list is quite long. have you tried to read the disc in my computer screen (presuming your using windows) as the files might be in a compressed format (.zip or .rar) in which case you might have to unpack them. If the disc is not recognised at all try it on a different machine (a friends) and see if it will read on that if it does then copy the files to a new disc and try again. other than that you can always go the the makers web site and download any drivers from there support area's. Any further help required let me know.

Using Windows XP. Want to copy vidoe from Media

Is the drive you are using a DVD writer or only a DVD reader? The drive that writes to RW disks is labeled DVD/RW or DVD Recordable.
These are the only drive types that will read and write a DVD/RW disc.

Dvd drive not working correctly

you may try deleting upper & lower filters.
The fact that the Drive spins is that the drv hardware is functional.
what you need to find out is weather the computer interface is able to find it.if you are using the windows open 'my computer' or 'computer' window.
you should see it there. and when you open the disc and you find it empty then the disc is at fault.
if you are not finding the disc at all.
try some other software's that work with disc's like the nero & sonic and see if they detect it.
If they do then it could be windows up date that you need to fix this issue.
if all this do not work then Restore your computer with 'SYSTEM restore' facility.

Computer DVD/CD Drive does not recognise any discs

The most likely cause is a faulty DVD drive. Replacing the DVD drive is fairly simple.

You can buy a new one online for around $25 including shipping. If you need help finding a drive or installing a drive, I can help with that. Just let me know.
