Question about HP DVD1040i 20x Super Multiformat Dvd Writer, Internal Burner
I'm trying to install a HP DVD1040i drive into a Dell, but I do not have the install disk. Is there anyway I can get the necessary drivers/software online? Do I actually need the disk? Thanks!
try here, scroll down the page a little bit and you will see the download. Once you have downloaded it right click the dvd drive on 'my computer' and click on properties. Then click on update driver, choose 'browse my computer' and locate the driver and install it as the updated driver and it should work.
Note though that if the driver downloads in a zipped file you will have to unzip it first and save it wherever you want it saved.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
