Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I am having trouble printing out plates (on a coated glossy stock) for our printing presses. Sometimes I will get a ghosting line across the plate, other times there will be marks across the plate like the toner is dragging onto the paper. I am also experiencing the edges around the image is giving me a gray haze. We have done the maintenance kits, replaced toner cartridges replaced rollers. Anything that I thought I could fix, i tried. Please HELP! We are wasting so much money and time. rgodwin3@verizon.net

I know you have replaced the toner cartridge but have you replaced it with the HP Brand. Also, what model do you have? I have taken many, many calls on remanufactured or compatible toner cartridges for steaks, reprinting and and even paper feed problems because they leak.

Yellow lines appear in printed outputs on my Epson 1280. Printer was inactive for about 5 months. ....have cleaned and soaked print head several times. Lines are less intense, but still there. Thanks...

There are two possible causes: 1. The ink dries on the plate around the head output (sprayer), 2. Thin coatings of yellow head broken. The first possibility can be tested by printing blank pages (or just containsthe line - full pages). If after about 50 pages to print, yellow lines had been lost, then the printer is ready for use again. But if not, then thesecond possibility happens. At the output of the head there is a thincoating. If until the coating is breached, then the ink will drip continues, although there is no voltage or current that supplies the headmicropiezzo.

Hi, When printing photos, my photos have horizontal light coloured lines across them. When I print the nozzle check pattern all colours match the guide with the exception of the light magenta....

Epsons are notorious for this sort of problem, especially in used infrequently as ink residue dries on the print head; try using a cleaning cartridge, or swab around relevant print head with cotton bud and ethanol/isopropyl alcohol. Here are examples of cleaning carts, there are others http://www.internet-ink.co.uk/epson-cleaning-cartridges/ http://www.icompinkcartridges.co.uk/epson-r200-r300-r220-r320-r340-cleaning-kit.html

Xerox 6350 prints ghost page every page printed. It is printing a ghost imge of the previous document printed on every page.

If the ghost is black then you might have a bad Black Developer 116-2011-00

If the ghost is in all colors then it may be your fuser, or possibly just your paper settings. (If you are using glossy paper or card stock this needs to be fed from the MPT tray and defined correctly in the control panel)

Good luck!

Ink from my deskjet 5650 smears off my glossy postcards.

Hello there jbaerpynes.

You must use HP branded glossy paper in this particular printer as recommended by the manufacturer. Because HP ink is much finer than most other inkjet printers, the ink sometimes does not set in properly on generic papers, especially glossy ones, and can smear right off.

Try new paper and get back to me. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to comment on my post. If I helped you, please give me a positive rating.

Thanks.

Color not coming out right when printed

In this case what i would request u to do is....... Take out both the catridges from the Printer......... Take 2 Paper Towels one should be wet with Luke warm water and the other one should be  dry...........
Take the Colour catridge first turn it upside down and u will see a small copper plate on the  catridge from where the ink comes out.......
Place the wet paper towel using ur thumb on the Copper plate and press it a lit bit for 10  Seconds......
Now remove it and see whether u see any ink on the paper towel.......... U should see some ink on it now place the dry paper towel on the ink catridge in the same  way........
Now do the same procedure again.......... Do the same procedure twice on the Black Catridge................. Now take the dry paper towel and turn the direction of the cartridge so that u can see a  Copper plate on it with small boxes just clean that copper plate with the Dry Paper
Towel..........
Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer... Good Luck

Ink not dry when printing photographs

Download the proper drivers from hp.com - DON"T use standard Windows drivers.

When you have the proper drivers installed, you will find an "Advanced" tab in your "Printing Preferences" where you can set "Ink Volume" and "Dry Time".
Try using less ink and a longer dry time.

Also, make sure you're using photopaper that is designed for "INK JET PRINTERS".
(Laser Jet paper won't work).

Any photo that you print on glossy/semi-gloss paper will be wet as it emerges from the printer (especially ones requiring lots of ink).

You could manualy "catch" each one and set aside to dry, which should only take a minute or two.

Professional printers use a special drying powder and timed spray rig when printing on coated cover stock and glossy materials.

it is a fact of digital print that toner scatter will apear ever so slightly. But it is noticable much more on glossy stock, as there is a high reflectivity, and no micro valleys in surface texture to loose it in..having said that...glossy stock is very difficult to print on with the Ilumina..even on label setting/ auto select for weight and Media switch on(this is the best I have been able to achieve)
