Picture tube is magnetized. Manual degausing is required. already you have done this.
Since you say it is reappearing, you have to check the following.
1. Relocate the TV or relocate if you have placed any tower speakers or home theater speakers close-by.
2. Check whether auto degauss functioning OK. In the MENU check whether you switched off auto degauss option. If it is OFF enable it to ON.
3. Finally re orient the direction of your TV and watch the rainbow effect. Switch OFF TV, wait for 20 mts, and again switch ON. Repeat the process. It should disappear.
Magnetic toys or any other devises using magnet will cause this problem.
I just had a rainbow of colors on my tv screen...i thought it was a problem with my TV...however the screen went the "sign off" screen (verticle lines-red/blue/green) Then all of a sudden the picture came back and all was back to normal again.
So I say it's nto your TV it is a station problem!
Probable causes 1) Magnetic field disturbance from near by equipments. eg. Audio Speakers. 2) It might also caused by shifting TV position 3) the degaussing might be faulty. Demagnetizing the set will resolve the problem.
Usually when a tv is dropped the phospher screen inside the picture tube will detatch making the rainbow color This cannot be fixed as it requires changing the picture tube. Only other thing is demagnatize it with a demagnitizing coil (used by tv techs) but not likely to fix it since it was dropped. You have a bad picture tube.
The tube needs to be degausse you had maybe placed speakers beside the tv causing it to magnetize have a tech look at it to remedy the problem.good luck.
