Question about Xerox FaxCentre F12 Laser Printer
Sometimes in this condition, since the machine is entering old toner in the waist canister, the ink got backed up in the drum modual.
The door was closed, the ink backed up.
When inserting a cartridge check to mbe sure the cartridges are fully seated in the machine, and the small trap door is out of the way so the exess ink can go into the waist canistrer.
If replacing the cartridge run some copies and see if the clicking noise goes away. It might take a few copies to get the rest of the backed up ink from the ink cartrige to settle out.
Be prepared if this problem comes back, both drum and toner cartridges need to be replaced at the same time.

It really sounds like a defective cartridge. There is a metering blade in there that puts the right amount of ink onthe roller, if its not right it will just throw it into the machine.
You need to vacuum the machine out, return the cartridge for a new one.
