Question about Daewoo Microwave Ovens

Daewoo microwave problem

Hi,

There are no microwave repair places in my area, so an engineer friend diagnosed the problem. He said there was a short circuit in the printed circuit board, and he told me the part # to replace.

However, Daewoo won't sell it to me, because it didn't come through an "official" repair shop. Is there any place that sells Daewoo boards?
It's M254 DS 8-V-0.

Thanks,
Bart

That is not a proper Daewoo part number you're showing.

What's your oven's model number, and what specific problem are you having with it?

We regularly repair these control boards for
customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.

The Daewoo model # is WM 1010CC.
The unit blows a fuse every time I open the door to get food out.
Please suggest a fix!

Daewoo microwave does everything except heat?

Possibly the high voltage fuse or the diode pack or capacitors have failed. BE VERY CAREFUL if you are attempting repairs on microwaves. The high voltage side is usually up to 5000 volts. If you are uncertain about electrical repairs on these, DONT attempt it. The high voltages in certain areas of a microwave oven can kill... The machine can store this electricity in its capacitor circuits even when the unit is unplugged.

My koc-81h4t daewoo microwave convection oven is blowing fuse,i tried to isolate the high voltage area, the griller is working fine, but when im tryin to use the convection, fuse still blows, take note that...

Possible that the high voltage CAPACITOR or the transformer is short. So you need to isolate the total HT circuit to confirm , if the connection to the magnetron was removed.
Also check for any short on the surger protector at the front end of the supply.

Daewoo dual heating system microwave KOC-873TSL is not heating/ cooking. What could the problem be?

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

This is a job for a professional but if you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!any capacitors are discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

My daewoo microwave/toaster blew my breaker upon resetting it and plugging in the microwave it blew again then it tripped my GFI what could be the problem?

Probably a short inside the microwave circuitry.  I had a Daewoo and had nothing but trouble with it.  Main board went out in a year, then again in another year.  Finally went to Home Depot where I bought it and was told that they had nothing but trouble with them and quit selling them.  Now I have a GE Spacemaker.

Daewoo kor-861h, electrical smell and will not heat.

Turn if off, and leave it alone, remove it, if you can remove the unit, take it in for service, something is wrong if you smell electrical, most people for some reason can smell and identify correctly electrical or at least insulation burning smells, which means something is burning internally, not safe, fire hazard, unit needs to be repaired by qualified technician or replaced with new unit, take no chances, nothing you can do to repair this, could be a shorting transformer, or shorting power cables, but to attempt to trouble shoot this with email is a long shot, and depends on your experience expertize and testing equipment.

I wish I could give you a short easy answer, but the hazard and your safety is more important than a microwave.

It sounds like a door switch going bad, or a bad connection on your control board. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk If it's a problem with the control panel assembly, we repair those nationwide for $39.95.
