the flooding is due to clogging of filter of the drain and resulting in leaks . Check the drain pump/valve, check the hose fittings and make sure these are tight. check the inlet pipelines for leak and the washer door gaskets.
Grinding noises are most often the result of a failing water pump. The noise can increase during the spin\drain cycle due to the added load on the pump. Although less likely it could also be the drive belt rubbing on something or a pulley bearing failing. If you are able to locate and remove the drive belt, you should be able to turn the water pump pulley by hand. If the pump does not turn smoothly it is bad.
