Upgraded to MAC OS X; is there a compatible driver?

In order to scan I have to jump back down, past Classic OS and into the old OS 9+. The scanner works fine in 9, but won't work in classic. Any ideas how to get a new driver for osX?

Re: upgraded to MAC OS X; is there a compatible driver?

This scanner was released back in the late 90's, before Os X was released. Heidelberg discontinued support of all but their high end Nexscan scanners. So unfortunately, newer drivers were never made for this product.

My scanner will not scan

If you have upgraded your OS to Vista or W7 , this could be the cause of the issue , especially if your device is more than 10 years old . The manufacturers generally stop producing compatible drivers for these last operating systems .
Otherwise , delete driver in Device Manager , disconnect scanner and uninstall scan software via Control Panel \ programs .
Reboot , reinstall software .
Reboot , wait for O.S. to be settled and connect scanner .

HP Scanjet 4470c compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.1

You will not find drivers for this old scanner. Sorry but this scanner is not compatible with Tiger, Leopard, or Snow Leopard, and HP offers no drivers other than for OSx 8.0 & 9.0 which are 10 years old. Time to purchase a new scanner.

Installing CanoScan Lide 20 / Lide 30 into Mac OS X 10.5.5

I found this scanner at a garage sale today, and had trouble finding this info myself. Finally stumbled upon this site ( )

I'm using it on a Powermac G5 but both the driver and toolbox app say they are univeral binary. Hopefully this gets you up and running too:

CanoScan LiDE 30 on Mac OS X 10.5
This technical help may seem completely out of place on this art blog but after scouring the internet for 3 hours trying to set my 6 year old scanner up on my new MacBook, I found this info half way down a lengthy comments section of a random blog. So I thought I'd post it here (slightly altered) as a message in a bottle to anyone else in need of it.

How to set up CanoScan LiDE 30 on Mac OSX 10.5
Select MAC OS X
Download BOTH:
LiDE 20/LiDE 30 Scanner Driver Ver.
(Mac OS X)

CanoScan Toolbox Ver.
(Mac OS X)

INSTALL CanoScan Toolbox Ver.
INSTALL LiDE 30 Scanner Driver Ver. . Make sure Applications>CanoScan Toolbox 4.1>Plug-Ins is selected as the install location.
You will be asked to RESTART. You should.
When you run CanoScan you can choose Photoshop as the default program to open the image in once it has scanned. You do not need Photoshop to open using Rosetta for this to work.
NOTE: If you want to scan directly from within Photoshop CS3, you need to copy the driver 'ScanGear CS 7.0X' which is found in Applications>CanoScan Toolbox 4.1>Plug-Ins into the photoshop pluggins folder, Applications> Adobe Photoshop CS3>Plug-Ins>Import/Export. You also need to open photoshop in Rosetta mode. Apple + I on the photoshop icon and select 'Open using Rosetta'. I would not recommend using this method though.
Go to System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items and remove both of the following:

Canon N650U and Mac OSX

Canon only has this scanner driver in OS9 and it will run in classic mode if you are using OSX. This $40 software will work with your scanner in OSX, but for $40 you can purchase an OSX native scanner too.

Have you checked Microtek's web site to see if they have an updated driver for 10.X OS? Have you done the same for the espon stylus 760?
