Question about Logitech MX 5000 (967558-0403-R) Keyboard and Mouse

1 Answer

MX 5000 Duplicate Characters

I have an MX 500 KB and mouse. Using them on a Dell Inspiriron 6400 laptop with Kensington dock.
When I type a character (normally after the KB has been idle) the first character I type will be duplicated.
Any suggestions for fixing this frustrating problem?

Plug in directly to the USB port and avoid the use of KVM switches, Y-adapters and such. See here:

I have a new kensington keyboard, but some of the characters are not working, such as the at sign in my yahoo email. They are producing different characters. I have an Apple Ipad 2. Help!

You have to check that is also the correct type of keyboard as well as checking keyboard/region language. It might be a 101 button windows keyboard with the machine you are using being set to 84 button oeyboard in control panel

How do i fix a jumpy keyboard?

This is common for laptops that have a touchpad.
I suspect that you are inadvertently touching the touchpad while typing.

If you use a mouse, disable the touchpad.
If you use the touchpad you can disable "tap to click."

Is Dreamweaver MX 2004 bilingual? I want to write my website text in both English and Welsh often on the same page, I am unable to find the accents/symbols needed for Welsh words. ie the Welsh for "Dogs"...

Dreamweaver is just software to build a web page/site. If you want your web page/site to show Welsh characters, you have to code the characters. A list of HTML codes for different characters can be found here: Using the Split or Code views, you can type in the HTML code for any character and it will display the character on a web page.
Hope this helps!

If it only does it running on battery power, try adjusting your power saver option. You may also want to run a program like Malwarebytes (free) to make sure it isn't some spyware causing the problem.

Dell D600 Latitude laptop. Spanish characters when using ALT key and a # do not work. Suggestion?

Go to Programs/Accessories/System Tools and click on Character Map. You will need to do a cut and paste of the character from there. Laptop keypads don't support the Alt# sequence for inserting characters like a conventional keyboard does.

Without touching the touch pad, the characters I type often jump from end of line to somepoint earlier in the typed line

I use to have this happen. I had to re-install the mouse/touchpad drivers a couple of times. Then ithe problem went away.
