While playing with the settings I found something called: "format" or something like that. The thing is it completely deleted everything from my mp3 player, including the auto-transfer and other software. I can still listen to music, record and do all the other things i did before. The problem is that it doesn't recognize any other formats such as .ogg, .m4a, only mp3. I would like to know how to reinstall software on my mp3, and maybe search for sound boosters online. Thx

Use Sony's content transfer to transfer the video. In the settings, select the automatic conversion of the video when you drag an drop it using content transfer. This worked for me with Windows 7 and an upgraded device firmware to version 1.0.1. Both Sony's Content Transfer 1.3 and firmware version 1.0.1 can be found on Sony's website.
I had the same problem. The solution for me was that the files on my computer hard drive were set to play on the realplayer format. Once I changed the format to play on the windows media format, it started saving to the Emo. I hope this helps you.
If you haven't try already you may need to format it because the boot up file may have corrupted or something.
To format follow these steps below:
First go to "My Computer" - now look for your mp3 player usually
named under for example "Removable Disk F", when you've found it
"Right-Click" on it then click on "Format", when format is complete try

Press and hold the search/menu button for half a second in stop mode. The menu screen is displayed. Rotate the shuttle switch to select "Advanced Menu" > and press the play/stop button to confirm. Rotate the shuttle switch to select "Format" and press the play/stop button to confirm. Rotate the shuttle switch to select "OK" and press the play/stop button to confirm. "Formatting..." blinks and start formatting. When formatting is complete "complete" is displayed.
This is how i get rid of the problem "Format Error".
