Won't read memory card

Camera always worked fine till now. Won't read memory card, tried several, "Read only memory card, change to internal memory to capture" or Memory card requies formatting". Cards are formated, pulled card and tried using camera with just internal memory. That worked. No I don't have card locks on. Please help, use my camera a lot. Think this is my last Kodak.

I hvae had this happen many times... ok this is what you will need to do. take the memory card out and look at the little brass things and clean them with something thats cotton. repeat this till it reads. i hope this will help.

Sounds like the memory card socket may be damaged. It may be possible to look in the socket and see if the contacts are bent, but most likely the camera will need the socket to be replaced.

Camera won't register that there is a memory card, always saving pics to internal memory

Did you use a high capacity memory card with an old camera? For example, did you use a SDHC card in a somewhat old camera?
Some cameras accept only SD card. Although SDHC card has the same shape, it won't be reconized by the camera.

Why won't my Olympus sp-600UZ accept my memory card. It' keeps tell me error can't read card

Ok try this for you to determine if your memory card is defective or not, try to insert your card to a device that support the type of memory card you have. Then if it still doesn't work i assume your memory card is defective. But if the memory will work try to insert other memory card on your camera for you to determine if your camera memory slot has a problem. Hi

Markar

Well make sure if its the same card which is in accordance with your camera manufacturer.

If this is the same chip you had used comfortably in the same camera earlier then probably it is the problem with the socket of the chip which needs cleaning. You can clean it if you can reach the pins of the socket with Iso-propae Alcho. then try to insert the same chip back and it will sure read/write it.

The canon PowerShot SX210 IS only supports memory cards up to 4GB in size. Larger ones will work, but because of the format type the camera uses, it won't be able to read correctly past 4 GB.

Cannot get the camera to use SD card. Card inserted correctly, also it is the right size [1gig] card. Camera fails to read card, place pictures on it. Cobra DC8200 BK

It is possible that you have pictures on the camera's internal memory and as long as they're there, the camera won't use the card. You can test this by removing the card and then try to review pictures. If they show up, then the internal memory is playing. To get rid of them, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions. After that, your card should work properly.
