MY PHONE SAYS "MAKE BUSY" ON MY LINE. IT WILL NOT FWD TO VM/ ONLY BUSY!!
My phone does not display the time and date. It simply says "MAKE BUSY" and underneath says " phonebook". Neither of these settings help me. I have been trying to change it, but the manual says " press the make busy button to get rid of problem" only one problem with that, I have no "make busy" button on my Superkeys for my main line! Now that I have played with the keys on my phone, it now does not go directly to my line when my line rings, it doesn't light up for me to make a call as i pick up the receiver, I have to manually push the key of my extension to use it!!!!
I need to RESET my phone. HELP!!!!!!!!
Re: MY PHONE SAYS "MAKE BUSY" ON MY LINE. IT WILL NOT FWD...
I was given a set of codes to use to reset the "make busy" sign, which was **1, not sure if these codes pertain to all phones, and to turn off "head set" i was told to use **3. I was then able to see the date and time again!! I also was able to pick up my phone when it rings instead of having to press a certain ext to answer from.
Good luck!

So what happens when they press TRANSFER and dial your extension? What happens when you call someone with a display phone and your extension comes up on the display?
The FWD/DND button shows that you have a FWD or DND condition set on your phone. Try pressing it one or 2 times and see if the display says FWD to xxxx. Now, if it is cleared, from the intercom dial 7104 (busy) or 7105 (no answer) 165 # That sets the CF on your phone.
If the others have lost your DSS button on their busy lamp fields, and truly nobody can "transfer" calls to you, you can reprogram those with PROGRAM 99 (don't pick up the handset) press the button assigned to your extension and dialing 1 + your extension and STORE.
It will flash for 2 reasons. The phone is in Do Not Disturb, The phone is forwarded and the lazy installer didn't change the button indication to solid.
What happens when you press the FWD/DND button on an idle phone? In most systems, it's supposed to toggle between FWD DND and OFF after you press it more than once. If that doesn't work, try pressing FWD STORE 0 STORE. That should turn off FWD/DND and unset it.
However, here's the problem. Your phone may have CF-condition set to send busy and unanswered calls to voice mail. We do that so the individual extension can set his own transfer to VM time. Those commands start with *710x and the VM extension which is 500 by default. For example dialing *7104 500 on the intercom will set CF-NA to the voicemail port on a TDA/TDE system equipped with a Panasonic Voice mail system. When that happens, the FWD/DND light goes either red or blinks red and the forward condition is set.
You can review the operations in the OM for your system under Call Forward and Do Not Disturb.
Your VM has an extension, usually 165 or 500. You forward your phone to Voice Mail by dialing *710x 500 # where x is 2 for all calls, 3 for busy, 4 for no answer or 5 for NA/Busy. I use 4.
The FWD/DND light will blink and the display will say Call FWD (condition) 500.
Now, all calls, both from the inside and outside will forward to the voice mail system.
If the FWD/DND light is lit solid, the extension is in DND if it's programmed properly. You can test this by pressing the FWD button and reading the display. It will clear and press it again and it will set and tell you what it did. (if DND and FWD are both set it shows 3 states).
At the phone, press intercom and dial *710x where x=2 for all calls, 3 for busy, 4 for no answer or 5 for busy/no answer plus the extension of the voice mail plus #. Your FWD light should blink and you have now set FWD to voice mail.
Unfortunately if the receptionist is using priority call (f69) there's not much you can do. Priority call is an administrator programmed function that overrides when your on a call and when the set is in do not disturb. Maybe bribing the receptionist might be in order.
You have a FWD/DND button on the top of the phone. Press it and read your display. One of the choices is FWD with a destination displayed, one is DND, and one is Fwd/DND Off :-)
If you don't have DND set, it will only toggle 2 actions.
You can change the time/destination by using the *7104 xxx # where xxx is the voice mail system. 7104 is the CF No answer code (5 being busy/no answer and 2 being all calls and 3 is busy alone). *7100 clears it all.
In case you wonder what happened to *7101...it's Do Not Disturb.
The phone has a FWD/DND button. Is it lit? Press it and read what the display says. If you don't have any destination, then you need to dial a new forward code. That would be *710x where 4 is no answer and 5 is busy no answer (you get to chose) plus the VM extension and #.
If your VM is 165 and you want to forward no answer calls, you would dial *7104165#.
You have a FWD/DND button on your phone. It's set up by dialing *7105 + VM EXT + STORE. That will make the light either be solid or flash on the button.
